JERUSALEM The president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, told President Obama that he could no longer bear Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, and went on to call Mr. Netanyahu a liar in a private conversation overheard by several French journalists last week at the Group of 20 summit meeting in Cannes.
You are fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you, Mr. Obama replied, according to reports that flooded the main Israeli news sites on Tuesday.
The Israeli prime ministers office refused to comment. An Israeli official, speaking on the condition of anonymity for diplomatic reasons, acknowledged that given the once-close personal ties between Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. Netanyahu, it all comes as a surprise.
The publication of the comments, bound to embarrass all three allies, came at a delicate juncture hours before the imminent release of a significant report on Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Notice how the NY Times covers for Obama by leaving him out of the headline?
Obama agreed with Sarkozy!
So who poisoned this relationship? Some jealous skinny guy with big ears?
“Describing the longstanding acquaintance between Mr. Netanyahu and Mr. Sarkozy, the Israeli official said that the two were introduced by a mutual friend and had gotten to know each other while Mr. Sarkozy was the mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine. The official added that the two used to go out to dinner in Paris and in Israel during Mr. Sarkozys visits here.”
Our leader hates the Church and national Israel.
If only there was a book that could have predicted this kind of thing...
This might be overheard on purpose. Distancing themselves from an Israelite destruction of Persia.

Could be true. France is what? 80% Islamic now? OK it's not that high but it's high.
If you read what he said, you can see he did not literally agree with him. He did not challenge Sarkozy, but made a bland statement in reply.
I am sure it is true that Sarkozy is fed up with Netanyahu, and it is also true that Obama has to deal with Netanyahu more than Sarkozy does. That is a truism from a politician who doesn’t want to make any sort of committed statement, and is typical of Obama.
“Obama agreed with Sarkozy!”
Yup!! And it was more than a wink and a nod... it was verbal.
Face it, statesmen and diplomats like Churchil will never be seen again.
Yes, I’d say the skinny guy has done more harm to most all International Relationships than any other President in our history...with the exception of the Muslim Nations.
I think Bee-Bee will play this out as a gentleman as always...while making it clear “leaders” sometimes make foolish comments. To do otherwise will raise the bar of the already volitile position Israel is currently in ad he will do nothing which might make it appear the USA and France are in any way opposed to him....even if he thinks otherwise.
It's part and parcel of his "Present" status quo.
I agree. Bibi is holding his fire and “no comment” is the word of the day.
He knows what the truth is about Sarko & Barry from dealing with them.
On paper, it's about 80% "Christian" but if you look at the raw numbers of who actually PRACTICES their faith in France, I wouldn't be surprised if about 80% of people who attend weekly religious services there are Muslims.
