Fast developing story out of Rome. No details yet, but you can check it out on the Drudge Report.
Here’s more on the story from the Financial Times:

Ahh, European politics will never be the same. I can only hope the next Italian PM is as amusing.
Thanks.
This while cause even more higgeldy-piggeldy here in EUroland. The FT analysis concludes, as neither of Berlusconi’s potential successors has broad enough parliamentary support that,
“This would plunge Italy into the uncertainty of snap elections in January, and further delays in implementing the deficit-cutting and growth-promoting measures demanded by the European Union and ECB.”
We can only hope that the new PM will have Bunga-Bunga parties to keep Italian politics lively.
Even though I don’t particularly care much for the parliamentary model, I do concede to them the “No Confidence Vote” idea.
I like it, and even though it can lead to some instability, on the whole, it serves as a check on the executive as well.
But, the American system was simply never designed for it. So, like you said, we’re stuck with the awful leaders. Let’s just hope that a majority of Americans don’t have a massive dumb-ass attack come next November, and re-elect the current occupant of the Oval Office.
I hear ya.. went thru Athens and Roma recently.. had good weather and missed most of the street protests.
Most of the folk are good people, just ‘victims’ of their socialista leaders and media ,, as are we here.. we do choose our poison these days , it seems.. or so the media would try and tell us.
Good luck in their struggles to regain control of their nations on their terms.. now that they’ve tried living on the ‘wild side’.
Our system is far superior to all existing models.
It simply needs to be followed, not amended.
Barring any sudden bad news, this should be good for a so-so two-day rally on Wall St.
Where have all the good times gone?
Does he have a co-minister or a vice-president-like person who can succeed him? If so, I hope that person is at least somewhat conservative!
Thank you. Laugh of the day, and so true.
