I detect a Perrywinkle or Romney(care)bot here.

You mean I must put my principles on hold, hold my nose and vote for one of these guys. Sorry. It’s not about high horses. It’s about saving the country.

Voting for either of these people is tentamount to voting for a demrat. How that defeats Marxism is a mystery to me. If wearing the Pubbie label is your primary criteria for a president I have nothing else to say to you.

If you’re talking Cain, Santorum or Bachmann you have my attention.

Palin was actually my strong 1st choice, but alas... I have been on the Cain train since Sarah’s announcement. I have absolutely no love for Romney and will not vote for him if GOP ends up nominating him. I was interested in Perry - like many of us - when he first entered until he actually opened his mouth and we all saw that there wasn’t all that much there (that, and being lambasted as “heartless” was kind of a turn-off). I certainly do not carry the GOP’s water; I vote and support Conservative/Tea Party. I’m looking at this field - which is not as strong as I would hope it would have been - and trying to assess which candidate would best be able to reverse the rapidly downhill, careening course this country is on (thanks to both Dem and GOP predecessors). I don’t believe Bachmann is the right person, simply because of experience/exposure. I like Santorum, but in a time in which our very survival is at stake due primarily to the economy, a Santorum-Obama campaign would quickly deteriorate into a referendum on abortion/gay marriage/etc. Not that these issues are not important - but, we win if the question is the economy and America’s standing in the world; I’m not so confident if the campaign morphs into primarily a social issues contest. Cain, whom I like and have financially supported, is beginning to show a pattern of poor preparation and not thinking before spouting from the mouth. This, I’m afraid, will hurt him more than any past wayward glances at comely lasses. Perhaps he can turn around this growing perception, but it will require a greater demonstration of campaign organization, planning, execution and discipline.

I too am totally about saving the country. Because Gingrich had peccadilloes in the past does not prima face disqualify him from assuming this role. I would challenge you to point out how Gingrich’s policies are “tentamount {sic} to voting for a demrat”. His policies - well thought out and actually quite bold - will all be anathemas to the Left. But, I don’t know everything, so I would be most happy if you can educate me as to how Newt is actually a Manchurian candidate for the Left/Dems/Progressives.
