Yes, but the hanging part was deliberately non-lethal. The drawing was the killer. The quartering to entertain the crowd. (OK, I made that last part up, but who knows...)
True, but you might break their neck, and they would be dead. The Drawing and Quartering would then be a moot point.
(*. All joking aside, it is a shame that society cannot recognize and deal with MISPLACED AFFECTION. Were it only that 'we' could prevent these things from happening instead of dwelling on the punishment aspect).
