About 5 years ago the wife and I were site seeing at Mount Rushmore.
We were surprised at large numbers of non english speaking Europeans that were there. Then we began to notice the large number of non english and english speaking Asians that were there.
A black american child ran by and we started noticing the small number of black americans. We saw only three black american families during our stay.
Of course there were a large number of english speaking caucasians around the visitors center.
It is my guess that the ratio of black americans was 1 in 100 or less of the total number of people at the Mount Rushmore Visitors Center.

it would seem to be cultural—black americans have other priorities.
come to think of it, urban blacks are not that patriotic.
small town and rural Christian blacks are more patriotic.
