There are a number of products out there designed to fool the license plate cameras, like this:

I have PhotoBlocker spray on the license plates of all 6 of my vehicles (cars and motorcycles). It doesn’t work. The reason I know is that here in CA the toll fastpass can be activated by a simple read of the license plate, you don’t need to use the transponder. And without the transponder, with the spray on the plates, every one is read every time. Sorry, it’s a scam.

So 1960s! Mount an iPad in a license plate holder and display anything you want. Toll evading? We got an app for that!

Love it! Thanks for posting.

While I believe that red light runners (deliberate & habitual types) should be pulled from their car and beaten well, I am completely against the use of cameras to monitor, regulate and fine private citizens. Particularly when the real motivation is (99% of the time) simply revenue, not safety.
