Wouldn’t take it personally. Some of my best friends are Polish, but it looks like Lech is in a pickle.

I think someone sold Ol’ Lech a bill of goods. When he finds out who he’s really supporting, I’m betting he’ll fly home in disgust.

Convoluted message to say the least. What is Walesa going to tell these pampered American occu’peers? communism is immoral??? Capitalism is immoral??? Nihilism is immoral? Socialism is immoral? Or is it free market economy that’s been so disastrous and immoral for societies around the world?

Perhaps he wants to draw moral equivalencies between revolutions/revolutionaries the world over, calling them all one and the same. Perhaps sadly his ultimate message is that “revolution” itself is the only “morality” left us!

Totally agreed as far as Lech’s situation.

Not taking it personally, just curious as to what he really meant to say is all... Trust me, my husband (100% Polish - 3rd gen. American) has told me some of the funniest “dumb polack” jokes I’ve ever heard.

When someone tries to say that Polish people are stupid I just point them to this article at Cracked.com: [Minor Language Warning]

. . . just curious as to what he really meant to say . . .

Well, it mught just be that, if Lech Walensa doesn't know the difference between capitalism and OWS, he might be a "dumb polack." As for myself, over the past decade I've come to appreciate Polish folks. Curious though: Do they like beer?

I still want to know when Gerald Ford said Poland was free in the debates with Carter, was that a Intel Slip and what Intel did he have, i.e did they know then in 76' that the Soviets and their Satellite States were about to collapse....

Wow, I hadn't considered that possibility.

LOL... Well, as for my husband and his family that answer would be “yes”.

I would have to say that a more long-lasting tradition among Poles would be drinking vodka - since the early middle ages if I’m remembering correctly.

It certainly seems that way. I don’t feel as though I recognize our world any longer. Everything is upside-down from when I was young (or so it seems). I can’t even imagine what it must feel like to those older than I (I’m only in my late 30s). I should probably add that I grew up with older parents, so that may be a factor in how I perceive things. My family was pretty “old-fashioned” compared to my friends’ families.

Beets are a great source of Beta Choline. One of George Washington’s favorite foods. Beets are also found in that mid-winter cold soup used in northern climes known as borscht.

I can tell you that I’ve felt super re-energized after a lot of hard work outside on a bitter cold day after a few spoonfuls of beet borscht.

Choline is what that lecithin becomes in the body. Beta choline also helps the early stages of digestion.
