Your math has to be wrong, as those 2 statements dont square logically, unless either:
(i) 9 out of 10 people in bathhouses are straight, or
(ii) HIV+ gays uniformly stay away from bathhouses.
I dont think either of those are true.
I found that very confusing as well.
