Cain is great on everything. The main fly in his ointment is the scrutiny he will get for his 9-9-9 plan.
I’ve already posted several threads on this and I see even CONSERVATIVES showing opposition and having serious questions and reservations.
If he can truly defend it and show that it works, he will truly deserve the presidency. If not, he will be shown to be a mere idealist not worthy of consideration.
Unfortunately, the 30 second sound byte debate isn’t going to do justice to his complicated tax plan. In fact, the attacks in the next debates are SURELY going to come his way instead of Perry’s.
He better be prepared.
I am against the 9-9-9 plan, but his site has now stated that it’s to be used as a transition to the FairTax. As I understand it the idea is to incrementally cross over to the FairTax, (part national sales tax, part income tax, then only sales tax). I disagree with the 9-9-9 plan, but support Cain. He said he was trying to unite FairTaxers and Flat Taxers (it will not), and I think he got flack for it, and has now decided to move back to the FairTax (When the 9-9-9 site first came out, it had no mention of the transition to the FairTax—Phase 2—my guess is that the 9-9-9 was decried and he re-evaluated that position, or possibly he had the idea the whole time).
I still like Cain, but that doesn’t mean I agree with every idea his campain (or just him, for that matter) puts forward.

I tink he’s on to somethig with 999 but I, too, want to see the details. He is a methematician and has talked about an economic team that he worked with t out it together..and I would like to see his list of assumptions that they used going in. Then it can be fairly evaluated.
I wouldn’t mind a Simposn-Bowles look, a Paul Ryan look, etc. Art Laffer (the Reaganomics guy) has commented favorably on it and WSJ had a piece a couple of weeks ago that was favorable. But yes, let’s get the details. And I also believe it is a work in progress.
Is Cain also "great" on Romney?
This Romney?
VIDEO clips of Romney/Kennedy Debates: Liberals For Romney - More Liberal than Ted Kennedy
The same Romney that Cain supported in 2008?
But, Cain's support of Romney in 2008 was ancient history.
How does Cain stand, today, in 2011?
Cain is on constant attack against Perry but treats Romney with kid gloves. Cain will not even support Perry, in the GENERAL ELECTION if Perry were the GOP nominee ....... EVEN AGAINST BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.
But, guess what?
Cain WILL support his old buddy, Mitt Romney.
"But, that's alright. The Great Cain is fighting hard to defeat Romney!"
Not really.
Cain was not taking winning the Iowa Caucuses very seriously.
Cain is not taking the campaign very seriously right now as he hawks his book instead.
Cain has left his old pal, Romney, to lock up key donors while he locks up his book sales at Barnes & Nobles.

Cain is a "great" Stalking Horse for Mitt Romney.
Yep. Cain is "great" on everything.
Take, for example, the issue of killing al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki. No matter what your position is on the matter, Cain agrees with you.
======================
Cain, May 5, 2011, Regarding the killing of al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki
"He should be charged. And since he's an American citizen, he should be tried in our courts," Cain said of al-Awlaki. When asked if he considered it legal for President Obama to order al-Awlaki killed, Cain said, "In his case, no, because he's an American citizen. If he's an American citizen, which is the big difference, then he should be charged, and he should be arrested and brought to justice."
======================
Cain, October, 2011, Regarding the killing of al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki
"Asked why he had backed off his opposition to the U.S. military's targeting Anwar Awlaki, the al Qaeda terrorist and American citizen who was killed Friday by a drone strike in Yemen, Cain denied that he had ever opposed taking out Awlaki. I never said that [President Obama] should not have ordered [the killing]. I dont recall saying that. I think youve got some misinformation," Cain said. "Keep in mind that there are a lot of people out there trying to make me sound as if I am indecisive."
999 is just a selling slogan. Herman is realistic, reasonable, and solid enough to iron out the wrinkles.
Cain’s first degree was a BS in Math if I have the detail right———He got his MS while he was doing ballistics work for the US Navy-——I’m just itching to watch a bunch of lawyers try to take him on with the numbers! It won’t even be a fair fight. Makes me think of one sheep dog with teeth herding a bunch of mutton that has nothing but butts and hair.
