Perdue "Jokes" About Suspending Congressional Elections for Two Years
The Raleigh News & Observer ^ | 9-27-11 | JB Frank

Posted on 09/27/2011 2:29:38 PM PDT by fabjr60

Speaking to a Cary rotary club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election. "I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover."

It is a trial balloon.

I hope the reaction is such they don’t move to the next step, but we will see soon. If you start seeing the talking heads mention it in the next few weeks, we will know.

And at that time, it will be time for an armed march on Washington.

They do, indeed. My sentiments, exactly! The hell with trial balloons or political machinations — words MEAN things! If you do not support the NC or U.S. Constitution, you should be IMPEACHED and CONVICTED! Her press secretary and her useful idiots at the N&O are trying to “spin” this as a harmless joke. WHO THE HELL IS LAUGHING, GOVERNOR? She should be EXCORIATED for this!

Oh, and I would fully expect to be killed. However, my death might cause important people in the military NOT to back the Obama Junta.

If politicians suspend elections, it will then be time to suspend politicians. This meme will end in tears, at minimum.

Well, in any case, whoever runs against this fascist in her next election will be getting the maximum legal donation from yours truly.

I believe that elections are a state function, not federal. The states would have them anyway and the miscreants would be removed.

Ever notice that it becomes a ‘joke’ or a ‘misquote’ when a politician says something incredibly stupid and faces a tsunami of criticism for it??

I don’t believe that you were ‘joking’, gov!!

Talk about the media covering asses. News & Observer (the main NC paper) has already changed headline from "discusses" to "jokes." Does this sound like a joke to anyone?

It does if you're the liberal media and you've just been given your marching orders by the Democrats to cover up and spin the stupidity.

She’s guaranteed she will not be re-elected next year. She won her last election by 50.3%. As for her cosmetic surgery, someone should check to see if her ears overlap in back!

As a north carolinian, I can say BevP is a strange bird. But I don’t think she would have been elected had it not been for Obama. I think she basically won because of straight party votes.

I think if you asked most people in NC did they vote for her, they would honestly tell you they just voted straight dem ticket.

That’s not to excuse their behavior in wanting Obama, but that straight party vote is what pulled a lot of Dem politicians to power.

The provisions in Article I of the North Carolina Constitution strongly indicate that what this ol'gal said are punishable violations:

Sec. 5. Allegiance to the United States.

Every citizen of this State owes paramount allegiance to the Constitution and government of the United States, and no law or ordinance of the State in contravention or subversion thereof can have any binding force.

Sec. 6. Separation of powers.

The legislative, executive, and supreme judicial powers of the State government shall be forever separate and distinct from each other.

Sec. 7. Suspending laws.

All power of suspending laws or the execution of laws by any authority, without the consent of the representatives of the people, is injurious to their rights and shall not be exercised.

"THEY" can get rid of the Gubernator in NC as follows:

(4) Mental incapacity.

The mental incapacity of the Governor to perform the duties of his office shall be determined only by joint resolution adopted by a vote of two-thirds of all the members of each house of the General Assembly. Thereafter, the mental capacity of the Governor to perform the duties of his office shall be determined only by joint resolution adopted by a vote of a majority of all the members of each house of the General Assembly. In all cases, the General Assembly shall give the Governor such notice as it may deem proper and shall allow him an opportunity to be heard before a joint session of the General Assembly before it takes final action. When the General Assembly is not in session, the Council of State, a majority of its members concurring, may convene it in extra session for the purpose of proceeding under this paragraph.

(5) Impeachment.

Removal of the Governor from office for any other cause shall be by impeachment.

Then, following that stuff there's a section on the OATH:

Sec. 4. Oath of office for Governor.

The Governor, before entering upon the duties of his office, shall, before any Justice of the Supreme Court, take an oath or affirmation that he will support the Constitution and laws of the United States and of the State of North Carolina, and that he will faithfully perform the duties pertaining to the office of governor.

So, what are they waiting for!
