Such is the advice the owner of police blog “Second City Cop” gives to the residents of Rahm Emanuel’s crime ridden city of Chicago.
Months after inheriting a demoralized and shrinking police force from outgoing mayor Richard Daley, Rahm Emanuel has charged newly appointed Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy with slashing $190 million from the Department budget.
Yet during last year’s campaign, Emanuel promised voters he would, “…put 1000 more officers on the beat and erase a more than $635 million city of Chicago budget shortfall without cutting police, raising taxes or using one-time revenues.” (2)
How does he intend to perform these feats of financial legerdemain?
Apparently he’ll start by taking a page from former Mayor Daley’s handbook of chimerical accounting. It was Daley’s habit to authorize and account for certain numbers of police in Chicago’s annual budget and then fail to act on promised hiring, fill vacancies or account for retirements.
In that way, unspent funds were magically turned into “savings!”
Leave it to Rahm to scam taxpayers in exactly the same way. His hand picked Superintendent, Garry McCarthy has announced he will eliminate 1400 police vacancies, saving the city some $93 million.
But Mike Shields, president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police asked the sort of question the Chicago media perpetually refuses to put to liberal politicians: “How does ‘eliminating vacancies’ save $93 million when zero dollars were being spent on the vacant spots in the first place?”

But is the use of unnecessary force authorized?
Rahm isn’t going to hire 3,000 beekeepers thereby saving Chicago ten trillion dollars.
Looks like Rahmbo is setting up the 2012 riot stage.
Since it is damn near impossible to get a license to even own a gun, let alone carry it, this “cop” is recommending breaking the law.
I don’t know when this started, but according to one of my car magazines 22 states now have traffic citations as their no. 1 revenue source. Traffic citations are written by “beat-cops.” When Clinton got legislation to underwrite additional beat cops nationwide they were for revenue collection, not crime control. One small city in Florida got so upset about the traffic citations they fired their entire police force and had the sheriff take over.
Anytime a politician tells you he’s adding community enforcement, beat cops or any similar sounding “anti-crime” language, he’s talking about enhancing revenue flows. The city where I live has reduced the yellow light timing on automatic traffic light cameras from 9 seconds to 3 seconds, the legal minimum. They did it because they weren’t making their “revenue projections.” (Nothing about safety, it’s revenue.)
So, Chicago is going to slash the budget on cops dealing with crime. Are they going to slash the budget on cops writing tickets? I doubt it.
You really give a damn if the south side of Chicago goes up in flames next summer?

When any politician says something, if they will not swear under penalty of perjury and sign a notarized document to that fact, its all BS.
What is so hard to understand about that?
He’s using the French model of policing which protects central Paris above everthing else. Allow enclaves of minorities to manage their own affairs and fend for themselves, but make sure that no one feels threatened on Michigan Av. during shopping sprees at Christmastime.
For a second there, thought it was positive news. He had gone pro-second on us.

Yeah I care because when it does go up in flames where do you think the gangbanging thugs are going to move to? More than likely right next door to you and me because the crying liberals will have to assist them in moving into a less crime ridden area. Once they pollute that town and burn it to the ground they’ll be moved to another less crime ridden area. Rinse and repeat.

And as for Rahm, well he’s not too hot on the idea anyhow. He has already refused to concentrate more police in Chicago’s highest crime areas, worried that it would “…divide the city along racial lines…”
In short, stacking police in black areas would make it look as though blacks were responsible for the majority of Chicago’s crimes! And though it may be true, it fractures every rule of Political Correctness to admit it.
These people are so sick and corrupt.
