The SC delegation was 27 persons plus the Governor and her husband.

Charleston to Paris is about $1000. You need rooms for 29 people in Paris at the time of the aerospace's largest event and a massive draw for the public as well: the Paris Airshow. Nearly 400,000 attended in 2009. Hotel rooms will be at a premium. You need exhibit and meeting space. More cost.

So it's not going to come cheap and it's a six day event.

After Paris they went to Munich.

Haley got major SC employer BMW, HQ in Munich, to help cover many of the ground transportation costs and each of the delegation contributed to defray the costs. She and her husband paid out of pocket for his expenses.

All told the cost to taxpayers was about $4,400 per person. That sounds reasonable to me.

Thanks....I now agree the journalist was way overboard and just trying to look for anything to slam the governor on. It certainly pales in comparison to Moochelle’s trips.
