These make me want to say: “Don’t bother watching the president’s speech tonight. You’ve already heard it before.” But, then, we already knew that would be the case, didn’t we?
Apparently, the White House circulated these talking points to lefty groups in advance of the president’s speech tonight.
The American Jobs Act is:
- Based on bi-partisan ideas;
- It is fully paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes and asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share; and
- It will have an impact on job and economic growth NOW — just as soon as Congress acts.
- Every day, people in this country are working hard to meet their responsibilities. The question now is whether Washington will meet theirs.
- The time for obstruction and gridlock is over. Congress needs to put country ahead of politics.
- The American people know that the economic crisis and the deep recession weren’t created overnight and won’t be solved overnight. The economic security of the American middle class has been under attack for decades.
- That’s why President Obama believes we need to do more than just recover from this economic mess.
- The President is rebuilding the economy the American way — based on balance, fairness and the same set of rules for everyone from Wall Street to Main Street where hard work and responsibility pay and gaming the system is penalized.
- It’s an American economy that’s built to last and creates the jobs of the future, by forcing Washington to live within its means so we can invest in small business entrepreneurs, education and making things the world buys, not outsourcing, loopholes and reckless financial deals that put middle class security at risk.
So his big plan is for a $400 billion tax increase.
the same set of rules for everyone from Wall Street to Main Street where hard work and responsibility pay and gaming the system is penalized.
People cannot just keep spending and walk into their boss' office and DEMAND more income. They meet their responsibilities by spending less and getting rid of things that are too costly to keep.
Great graphic, do you have a url link for that?
Good grief - the internal contradictions in those talking points are crazy. It’s just focus-group tested nonsense and the antithesis of what we need to get the economy going. We’re going to “invest in small business entrepreneurs” but also ask those same entrepreneurs to pay higher taxes and saddle them with more regulations. Yeah, that makes total sense!! That’ll create jobs ASAP!!!
Tax increases, “infrastructure” (union job) spending, more foodstamps/unemployment spending, and a sop to the ‘viros with some mention of “green jobs”.
Ok.
How is raising taxes going to “create jobs”?
And no, I don’t buy into the idea that government “creates jobs” which is why I have it in quotes.
Of all the irritating and offensive things that Obama says, the one I find least tolerable is his appeal to "the American way."
Obama clearly has no understanding of what that phrase means. (See my tagline.) His tongue should fall out of his mouth every time he utters those words.
I haven't seen such nausea inducing idiocy since Peter Griffin challenged his family to a contest to see who could have the last piece of pie.
A Great Depression Speech? Historic. He'll keep promising us that he 'gets' what's happening with the middle class as he redistributes the wealth of America. Remember Porkulus... 'shovel ready jobs' weren't shovel ready! 'Recovery Summer' lost a net 329,000 jobs. We much resist! I say we much! |
Is there any end to this man's delusion?
It's a very long way to next November.
Speech, speeching, speechifying.
Speech, speeching, speechifying.
Yeah -- 0's bi AND he's partisan.
It is fully paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes and asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share; and
Except, of course, for those who donate generously to DNC and 0 for 2012. THOSE loopholes will be there, just harder for the average Joe to find.
Ask away -- let me know how that works.
It will have an impact on job and economic growth NOW just as soon as Congress acts.
An impact NOW? Uh-oh, what's that flushy/swirly sound? And of course, pre-loading a whiney "congress's fault" finger-point.
Every day, people in this country are working hard to meet their responsibilities.Except, of course, when THEY GO GOLFING OR ON VACAY The question now is whether Washington will meet theirs.
Again -- strawman, red herring, non-sequitor, whiney-butt poutey boy stuff.
The time for obstruction and gridlock is over. Congress the president needs to put country ahead of politics. (There, fixed it.)
The American people know that the economic crisis and the deep recession werent created overnight (no, it took 0 over two and a half years to bury the U.S. economy this deep) and wont be solved overnight.
Or at all, if 0 has any hand in the "solution".
The economic security of the American middle class has been under attack for decades.
Thanks to community organizers and the mentality that the U.S. somehow owes non-productive people and illegal immigrants some kind of "entitlement" for not pulling their load.
Thats why President Obama believes we need to do more than just recover from this economic mess.
Yes -- we need to recover from the political mess by putting representatives in office who look out for the U.S., not themselves. 0 -- it's time to pack.
The President is rebuilding the economy the American way (like he knows anything about being American)
In other words SOS!
Another re-run! Hope you will excuse me for not watching this CRAPOLA!
The article’s out of date already. Drudge has it that BHO wants to waste $400B (among other depressing news from the Dems...)
speechifying?
Is that an actual word? If yes, it nails Obama’s speech style, if no - it should be to nail Obama’s speechifying.
Ramirez had a cartoon at IBD..theme was “Groundhog Day.”
You mean this hasn't been the case up until now? GASP!
