Hahahaha....This kind of mistake happens in my own writings when I amend a sentence I start typing so significantly, but then don’t re-read to ensure propriety. She may have written something first that required “sent”, but then amended the whole thing, but forgot to re-read and correct.
Just a guess.
Happens to me all the time. I’m just surprised to see it happening on major websites like the Washington Post.
