As far as I can tell, that is not quite correct. Here is the "core residency requirements" application form LINK: "I have filed or will file an application to become a permanent resident at the earliest opportunity that I am eligible to do so." They will file at some unspecified future date? In 10 years? 100 years?
I don't like the Texas Dream Act at all.
The document says that Perry is "squishy" on immigration, which is a major concern. I don't understand work visas for illegals when we have such high unemployment (Perry's plan sounds similar to Palin's). Also, I think huge "temporary" work programs tend to become "paths to citizenship" eventually, which would import 10s of millions of new voters, and permanent leftist control of everything.
WRT the criticism of Texas schools and health care, people are moving to Texas, not away from it.
