Doggonit, Sarah Palin May Very Well be Jumping In
National Review ^ | 8-19-11 | Kathryn Jean Lopez

Is there any other conclusion after watching the Iowa video?

It is warm and inviting and part of the reintroduction that began with the Steve Bannon movie.

I have long thought that Governor Palin has been honestly trying to figure out the best use of the energy and attention — and anger! — that swirls around the name Sarah Palin.

And with this video, I think she just shared which way she is leaning.

I remember that name .. longtime football fan.

Do you remember Tucker Frederickson? I met him
and some of the Giants when I lived in the Bahamas
eons ago. My friends and I used to play a silly
word game switching the 1st letters of the 1st and
last name. I’m sure I was blushing when we were
introduced, just having that silly thing on my
brain .. LOL.

If I ate beef, you’re making that burger sound
delish. That’s a long waiting line!

Nope, she will announce with Bob and Mark on their radio show September 2, 2011 (Friday news dump).

Rove: Palin will run
By: Byron York | Chief Political Correspondent | 08/20/11 8:06 AM

##

Excerpt:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin greets the crowd during a visit to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Iowa, Friday, Aug. 12, 2011. (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak)Former Bush advisor Karl Rove says he believes former Alaska governor Sarah Palin will enter the Republican presidential race sometime around Labor Day.

Appearing on Fox News Saturday morning, Rove said Palin “has a schedule next week that looks like that of a candidate, not a celebrity.” Rove also cited a new campaign-style video Palin has released on her recent visit to the Iowa State Fair as evidence Palin is gearing up for a run.

Palin will be the keynote speaker at the Tea Party of America’s “Restoring America” event in Iowa September 3. The event location was recently moved from Waukee, Iowa, to Indianola, Iowa to accommodate a larger crowd.

“This is her last chance,” Rove said. “She either gets in or gets out [after the Iowa visit]. I think she gets in.”

A late entry into Iowa always raises questions about whether a candidate has the time to raise money, build an organization and meet voters face-to-face.

Rove was asked whether a Palin candidacy might operate from
“a different playbook” — that is, one that does not touch the traditional bases in Iowa.

“She thinks the normal rules don’t apply,” Rove said. “If you’re Sarah Palin, you just show up and the money comes and the organization comes and the people come.”

Rove has been accused in recent days of trying to meddle in the Republican race, particularly in critical comments about Texas Gov. Rick Perry, with whom the Texan Rove, a longtime member of the Bush camp, has had a long rivalry.

On Fox Saturday, Rove gave a passing grade to Perry’s record of jobs creation in Texas. “He has inherited a good jobs picture and managed it well,” Rove said.

Rove also said he is “aware of some very significant people who have picked up the phone” to urge Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan to run, but offered no other details.

Oh, I have no doubt that they would. I was thinking of her doing it more on the fly, rather than pre-planned.

Funny how even certified ruling class establishment RINOs like Karl Rove can see that Palin's running, but some long-tenured Freepers can't.

It fairly boggles the mind.

So, she'll break the promise she made to the AK radio station that, were she to announce, it would be on their station? That would be a rather inauspicious start to her campaign.

Why do you automatically assume that Palin will break her promise to Alaska radio hosts, Mark and Bob?

Why wasn't your first thought, "hmm....I wonder how she's going to tell Mark and Bob first, without giving away the big announcement?"

Give the lady some credit. If there's one thing she's proven throughout her life, it's that she's honest, and does not break faith with those who trust her.

We have to remember what the election of 2012 will be about. It will be the country class vs. the ruling class as personified by the regime of Barack Obama. The revolt against the ruling class began in 2010 and it was successfully led by Sarah Palin. We brought along independents and moderate and liberal Republicans in many states. We won the women’s vote 49/48 for the first time in many years.

Does anyone really believe that any of these other candidates even understand the conflict between the average person and the ruling establishment class? Does anyone think that any of them are capable to leading the effort to overthrow them? There may be a couple who would like to, but they don’t have the political skills of Sarah Palin.

Does anyone think that if Perry or Romney become the nominee, that the media wouldn’t portray them as viciously as they have Palin or Reagan or Bush? Palin has beaten them. She is still standing.

Those who believe that she will run an ideological campaign like Goldwater, should think again. Her campaign will be selling smaller government, but it will be aimed at those Reagan democrats, who given the choice between a Marxist democrat and an honest, patriotic Republican who thinks about the people first, will choose the Republican.

Watch how much money flows in when she announces. Watch the poll numbers when she announces.

Exactly right. Up until now, no one's seen Palin actually campaign in earnest. Her vast number of supporters have been floating in a sort of limbo - just waiting for the day when they can be unleashed.

Once she declares, and is in it to win it, the gloves are going to come off, and she'll begin reaching all of those waffling Americans who aren't sure about her.

So far, she's mostly been judged on past performance, her public statements, and speculation (both pro and con). It shouldn't take a genius level I.Q. to size Palin up, but for many, apparently it does.

Onyx, you know I love you, but on this, we disagree.

The big Moment will be squandered if Sarah just 'phones it in' to the Mark and Bob radio show. It's got to happen at her Indianola speech. They even had to move the venue to accommodate the larger than expected crowd that's coming. Press from all over the world is going to be there, and the place will be packed from wall to wall in anticipation.

Her speech would be anti-climactic if she spilled the beans a day beforehand. I really think that she's going to figure out some way to tell them first, without giving the show away.

I do not assume she'll break her word. Geesh. The assumption of the poster to whom I replied was that she will announce in Iowa.

She has said, and it's been repeated often, that she promised those guys she'd announce on their show (not that she'd simply tell them first). My first thought was *not* "How does she plan on breaking her word." It was "Yet another amateur prognosticator predicts Palin will break her word."

If you think I'm a PDSer, you are certifiable.

I don't know. This ain't like letting Mark and Bob in on the next stop in your travel itinerary.

This will be one of the biggest days of her life, and the biggest story of the 2011 primary. She's not going to leave anything as important as her announcement to chance.

Her handling of this will be a precision operation, timed down to the last detail, and with iron-clad security. And you can bet that Todd is the only person with the security clearance to know everything.
