Twenty years ago this Friday a tragic car accident in Crown Heights Brooklyn escalated into a pogrom against the Jewish people. The media gives it a politically correct description, violence between the area’s Blacks and Jews. However the violence was not two-sided. The Crown Heights riot was an attack on the Jews by the neighborhood’s Caribbean community, fueled in part by Al Sharpton, now an MSNBC host and adviser to President Obama.

Jews were a key part of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, when the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous march to Selma Alabama, he walked hand in hand with many Jews including Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel. Along with the Jews was a contingent of Torahs to emphasize that the quest for Civil Rights was a holy mission for the Jewish people.

Just like Zero, Dinkins was not overly fond of causasians or Jews.
During the Crown Heights Riot, Dinkins stood on the stairs of a police temporary headquarters vehicle and addressed the several hundred police officers who were there for roll call. He stated the reason he had not allowed the police to stop the rioters was that “the community needed to be allowed to vent”.

I have a problem with this part of the article:

Blacks starting a race riot to attack non-blacks is anything but “unprecedented”; it’s quite typical if you are familiar with this area of American history.
And Yankel Rosenbaum, with the acquittal of his killer the icing on the cake.
When will the Jews learn? There are people in the world that hate you no matter how much you champion their cause.
Obama is really edging us towards something like Crown Heights but only on a national scale. And yet white liberals love him to pieces.

I think I need to take a look at it. Also, Peter Schiff -- economic guru and son of patriot, Irwin Schiff -- tried to answer this question Peter Schiff on why Jews are so Liberal.
As you obviously know, human nature is complex with many reasons, but these two try to give some of the causes of this destructive mode of thought.
Personally, it perturbs me that so many of my co religionists seem to have adopted the cynical, Bismarckian welfare state as a religion.
I lived in NJ at the time, and followed this closely. The cops had legions of mounted and armored, shield-bearing cops ready to kick ass and take names only a few blocks away beginning less than a day after the riots started, and Dinkins forbade them to intervene. That SOB has a lot of blood on his hands.
I don't suggest that they try it in Texas. To be more specific, even the Jews here are well armed - our synogogue can defeat a small South American army on any given Saturday or holiday.
But, if they'd like, they can have at it. We can probably do about as good a job against them as the Israelis do to the Arabs.
Thanks for that. You are probably right. I always had the impression in that episode that he handled it the same way he handled everything else. In my mind he was an absentee Mayor. It was 20 years ago so remembering all the details in every episode of turmoil that Sharpton created gets fuzzy.
