During a stop tonight at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired a warning shot at the Obama Administration and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
Perry was asked to comment on the Fed, and while he said he didnt really want to take on the Fed question right now, he did have some blunt comments about the rumored possibility of the Federal Reserve printing a lot more money between now and November 2012 to make the economy appear better than it really is. Perry said:
If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what yall would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treasonous in my opinion.

bump.
If he keeps this up, I may have to consider my “Palin or else” position.
Hold out for Palin and you will get 4 more years of Obama.
Here’s the Video for the above post:
Michael Reagan says Rick Perry is the most Reaganesque of all the candidates.
Somebody actually said the T word?
wow
None dare call it anything
ROFLMAO! ROFLMAO! ROFLMAO! ROFLMAO!
I do like that Perry is hard hitting. The general will be brutal. I’d expect Perry to say that Obama is printing money to buy the election.
This is the sort of thing that will drive the prissy pundits and Obama sycophants up the wall. But the voters will get it, and that’s what makes Perry such a threat.
Pot, meet Kettle.

Unlike the common perception, Texas spent 40Billion more than it took in this year.
If the Fed prints money based on what issues forth from our natural resources, who are we to say, “Stop?” Which is not to say Zero is to be held in any esteem other than a menace and drain on the economy.
Perry fires warning shot at Romney. Perry fires warning shot at Obama.
I thought we were supposed to stop using violent rhetoric after Tucson. Did the media forget their manners so soon?
“Hold out for Palin and you will get 4 more years of Obama.”
That kind of statement won’t help your cause.
The hard sell on Perry is getting to be a bit much.
No we won’t
Oh yes...Rick Perry hates the government printing cash. Unless, of course, that cash is going to his state in the form of stimulus money.
The man is a fraud.
Guaranteed that the State-Controlled Media will term this "a racist call for lynching" or something like it.
Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treasonous in my opinion.
I wish I could vote for Perry right now.
In truth, there is alot of hostility toward any woman who aspires to high office, because there are an awful lot of male politicians scrambling for every available office. Any pol with a modicum of talent imagines himself as President of the United States. I think Palin is an extraordinarily talented politician. Perry is also. What his principles are, I do not know. In any case, the history of the presidency has seen a varied lot contesting for the big prize. Not all great men by a long shot. but men very good at playing a very difficult game. I could never understand how Obama could possibly think he could play the game at this level. I think Palin might if she gets the chance, but more and more I don’t think she is going to get in. I think Romney and Perry could also, although in neither case, can I guess what the result would be.
NumbersUSA don't like him or any candidate, but they document Perry's consistent stand that he opposes amnesty or a pathway to citizenship for illegals.
Here's one example of their source quotes:
In A December 2006 editorial, Gov. Perry wrote: "I would rather know who is crossing our border legally to work instead of not knowing who is crossing our border illegally to work. A guest worker program that provides foreign workers with an ID removes the incentive for millions of people to illegally enter our country. It also adds those workers to our tax base, generates revenue for needed social services and it can be done without providing citizenship."

On the "border fence" he's for strategic fencing (used where it makes sense), boots on the ground and eyes in the sky.
At the Waterloo, Iowa, Q&A, Perry mentioned using National Guard until adding 3,000 border patrol can be used to secure the border.
He did send Rangers to the border: Texas governor sends Rangers to Mexico border (2009)
He also mentioned arial assets on the border:
Texas Gov. Rick Perry says Predator drones should patrol Texas border (2009)
Texas gets a second aerial drone for border security (2011)
Perry's signed bills against human trafficking (HB 1372, 4008 & SB 11 of '07), on increased border security (probably the Rangers on the border he's mentioned; HB1 of '07), for tougher employer sanctions (HB 1196 of '07), on document fraud (HB 126 of '07) and signed Voter ID. Source: http://www.txcc.org/illegal-immigration & Reuters (Voter ID signing)
Perry banned driver's licenses for illegals (SB 1). ID measure passed quietly, while sanctuary cities bill died noisily
Here's an FR thread explaining the Texas dream law.
The "spending" clock is going DOWN and the "revenue" clock is going UP. Texas budgets are for two years.
