APNewsBreak: Some unions to skip 2012 convention

More than a dozen trade unions are planning to sit out the 2012 Democratic convention because they are angry it will be held in a right-to-work state. The unions say they are disappointed that labor wasn't consulted before Democrats settled on North Carolina, a state that is considered one of the least union-friendly in the nation.

They are also frustrated that job creation hasn't been a higher priority for Democratic lawmakers. The unions include the Laborers, Painters and Electrical Workers.

The move would deprive the party of millions of dollars spent on sky boxes and other sponsorships that usually help underwrite the convention.

A Democratic National Committee spokeswoman says the party is happy with the support of local labor leaders in North Carolina.

I thought they were upset that Obama hasn't attacked big business enough or raised taxes enough. They need to pick one and let Obama know - it's impossible to do everything they demand.

Great news indeed. Obama has pissed off the moderates and right wingers. He has pissed off the “rich” small business owners while siding with giants like google and GE. Now he is slowly pissing off his core constituencies- the left thinks he is not far enough to the left while people in as “safe” states as NY are deserting him. And now his other two constituent groups- minority voting blocs and unions are starting to fall off too. I visit the Daily Kos from time to time (it’s a funny to me people actually believe what they spew over there) and they’re pushing HARD for Obama to step aside so they can put up a “real progressive”, whatever the hell that means. This is the perfect time for someone even further to the left than Obama- like Kucinich or Nader- to post a 3rd party run. IT would completely destroy Obama to the point that the 84 election would look like nothing.

"They will be in the streets organizing flash mobs instead."

Can these union thugs pick a fight with the local street gangs so the streets are safe for everyone else for a week? ;-)

We would be so lucky. Unfortunately, the two will operate hand in hand for different aims. I fully expect London scenarios being played out in large metro and mid sized cities all across the nation by this time next year. Milwaukee and Philadelphia are just the previews. The opening rounds start on 17 September with the leftists contrived Day of Rage on Wall Street and D.C.

I also believe they will stage violence started by their own dressed as Tea Party members as a method to discredit conservatives and influence re-election of Obama.

The takers are going to converge and go ape on the producers, just as we are witnessing in London now.

That $1,000,000,000,000 handout to union workers called stimulus wasn't quite enough to buy 4 years of loyalty, I guess.

I’m thinking its because many of the large unions prefer to do their scheming and dirty dealing away from the camera’s spotlight. They would rather have the cover of the White House oval office.

How they think that will benefit them at the ballot box sure beats me.

Massive voter fraud and voter intimidation at the polls will take care of that. Holder's people will bring in Obama's 2nd term, unless, of course there is a landslide of votes against Obama.
