I would have loved it if the reporter followed up by asking Carney if it was the administration’s goal to have everyone on unemployment so that the economy could really take off.
Sadly, none of the so-called journalists have enough testicular fortitude to ask such questions.
Armando, that’s the money quote of the day! This whole idea of “stimulus” didn’t even have “shovel ready” jobs as its focus. They gave the money to the states and the states spent it on themselves. That is they just used the money to stave off the inevitable for another year. Here in California Arnie left Jerry the Fairy in a world of hurt in this manner. In a perverse way, although Arnie was an idiot, he inadvertently hosed his successor! Come on California RATs, don’t keep us waiting, just go under now so we can start sooner to pick up the pieces,
Hopefully, carney and company will be able to experience unemployment firsthand in Nov 2012.
