WISCONSIN SENATE RECALL ELECTIONS BY DISTRICT:
TUESDAY:
SENATE DISTRICT 2:
Republican incumbent: Senator Robert Cowles of Allouez. First elected to state Senate in April 1987 special election.
Democratic challenger: Nancy Nusbaum of De Pere, a former mayor of De Pere and Brown County executive.
SENATE DISTRICT 8:
Republican incumbent: Senator Alberta Darling of River Hills. First elected to the Senate in 1992.
Democratic challenger: Representative Sandy Pasch of Whitefish Bay. Elected to Assembly in 2008, reelected
2010.
SENATE DISTRICT 10:
Republican incumbent: Senator Sheila Harsdorf of River Falls. First elected to Senate in 2000.
Democratic challenger: Shelly Moore, a teacher from River Falls who has also served as teachers' union organizer.
SENATE DISTRICT 14:
Republican incumbent: Senator Luther Olsen of Ripon. First elected to Senate in 2004. Served in Assembly 1994 to 2004.
Democratic challenger: Representative Fred Clark of Baraboo. Elected to Assembly in 2008, reelected 2010.
SENATE DISTRICT 18:
Republican incumbent: Senator Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac. Elected to Senate in 2008 by 163 votes over Jessica King.
Democratic challenger: Jessica King, an attorney in private practice from Oshkosh, born and raised in Fond du Lac.
SENATE DISTRICT 32:
Republican incumbent: Senator Dan Kapanke of La Crosse, First elected to Senate in 2004.
Democratic challenger: Representative Jennifer Shilling of La Crosse. Elected to Assembly since 2000.
Like this post because (i) I like the implied call to optimism and (ii) your use of Hobbit. After the McCain thing I decided I would call myself a Hobbit proudly. (Obviously McCain never read the books or he would know it is an honor to be a Hobbit).
It comes down to winnebego county. can Hopper hold on?
I’ve never been a fan of Wisconsin but tonight I stand shoulder to shoulder with its citizens!
This will set the tone for 2012!

Not my area of knowledge to be honest I’m further south.
GOP seems confident he’ll hold.
We’ll see.
wisconsinreport Wisconsin Reporter by SykesCharlie SD 18 finds incumbent Hopper up 51% to 49% with 79 percent of the vote in. Dems really need that race. A GOP win is a recall push back.
Seems quite possible and would be a clear victory for us.
Finally called for Olsen.
Doesn’t look good for Hopper. If the current Winnebago percentages hold out, it spells an 1,800 vote gain for King.
If we get 5 of 6 the 3 Dem recall races next week suddenly get even more interesting...
We take 2 and we have a quorum :)
Hopper ahead with 18 precincts left by 534 votes. Nailbiter there.

Agreed. If the percentages hold, then Hopper will lose by 274 votes.
