Reid is speaking now, all the speakers are reading the same script “This deal isn’t perfect but we did it anyway”, “Came down to the wire but the American people got us to do it and we did it for them”, etc.
No mention of the new super committee being set up and how this deal doesn’t cut enough to avoid a downgrade. No mention of how this is a punt to avoid another showdown before the 2012 election.
So far no filibusters. Take a good look people the debt ceiling won’t be talked about for years.
