No tax increases.

That is what I honed in on right away. Obama shafted the left so that he could more favorably position himself for re-election. However, the "No tax increases" needs to be followed with "for now."

I don't want to cash in values for politics, but folks, we are where we are.

How far is this debt ceiling going to take us? We don't own the Senate or the White House, and until we do, we'll be making deals with the devil.

Let's have this very same conversation again one year from today, and let The Dali Obama explain why he can't curb spending (or, even, get his party to put together a budget) right before we run over him and his comrades like a Tsunami of patriotism at the polling booths.

Looks like enough money to push the issue past the 2012 election.

With this, I don’t care what people say, this is a loss for the republicans. This guarantees obama’s re-election. Our only hope would be if he spends the money before then.

Is Rick Perry going to explain why Default is a good thing now?

Agreed.. See my post above. Obama is the one who caved. He didn’t have to cave far because the Boehner deal was pretty light in the britches, but he’s going to be touting his dealmaking ability here and try to recover his approval rating.

DUmmies will be extremely irritated at this deal.

Obama’s approval is down to 40/high 30s within margin of error. He took the big hit on this.

Republicans need to get what they can and have the BBA and debt mess as a major campaign issue. Obama can’t handle any real discussion on the topic and neither can the rest of the Rats. Republicans will be the only adults in the room.

If true, I’m surprised Obama agreed to that. Of course, the devil is in the details. There’s always a catch when dealing with RATS.

why is no tax increase a big deal? there was never going to be a tax increase. if Obama and the dems didn’t raise taxes in 09-10 they weren’t going to raise them now. so it’s not exactly a win to prevent something tah was never going to happen in the first place.

I think the GOP could have gotten much more. If they had just held firm through tomorrow they could have gotten far more.

It looks like the GOP got everything they wanted.

No Taxes, repeat NO TAX INCREASE

dollar per dollar cut to increase

Harry Reid gets left out

President has to sign off on cuts to entitlements

No tax increases.

Not so sure about that.

•Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)

I’m taking this with a grain of salt until I hear confirmation from more reputable sources. How many times throughout the past several weeks have we been hearing that the GOP-Senate/Obama have agreed on a deal only for it to be false.

Until we go in an empty out DC we can only expect the same. Neither party is going to cut spending in any meaningful way. They are too invested in thier own lies they actually believe them now. And, they are so corrupt the ruin every new man and woman that is sent there. See Allen West.

there is also the pre-turkey Day automatic cuts....the defense cuts were coming in any case, and that could be Pentagon bloating for all we know....don’t like the medicare cuts only because the Dems will use this in the election, but then, the Dems own this too.

there may be more in there that hinges on NOT having it go through to 2012..can’t see it with the posts, may have to read this thing.

No, it looks like it has to be done by November.

I'm having a hard time seeing ANYTHING Hussein wanted.
