“The Undefeated,” an independent film chronicling the political career of Sarah Palin, got a test run in 10 midsize theaters over the weekend, accompanied by shrill news coverage claiming the public was absent from the screenings, the critics vicious, the reception chilly. The truth: The movie had a respectable showing, and a wider distribution is planned later this month.

NEWS?!!!? LOL!

I guess if your definition of 'news' is "Simply make sh*t up from whole cloth" then yeah, they deliver 'news'.

Mostly undefeated!

It doesn't appear to be being shown anywhere near where I live.

My wife and I saw it in Houston at the AMC Gulf Point 30. It was shown in one of the smaller theaters but was about 85% full. A lot of blue hairs, Tea parties I expect. I don’t think many minds were changed which is really what needs to happen for this movie to be a success. Having served in the Coast Guard in Alaska I enjoyed the scenery. Having been in oil and gas, I found the demonization of ExxonMobil a bit over the top. All in all the wife and I gave it two thumbs up.

We saw it in Colorado.

The movie points out that the Valdez spill in 1989 was a transforming moment for Ms. Palin. She has no love for big oil establishment, but does have love for domestic energy production. So at best it's a love /hate relationship.

The most ironic part of the movie was all the time they spent on the natural gas pipeline deal. Kudos to her for getting it done after 30 years of discussion.

Then the project was withdrawn (I think) because so much gas is being produced in the lower 48.

Well pundits may watch it since it is kind of homework for them, but the long haired, maggot infested, dope smoking FM hippy types will only see Bill Maher and a couple of gay guys making rape jokes about her and Bachman. We shall see what comes of it.

“Shrill”, now we know the writer will present a fair and accurate across the board statement.

But what had me and my wife blown away by the time it was over, was the avalanche of information and perspectives that had been hidden from us over the years.

They weren't hidden, Ben. You just went with the herd and ignored them.
