Former Egyptian president, 83, due to stand trial for the killing of protesters and abuse of power on August 3; news of cardiac arrest follows reports that he's suffering from cancer.
Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in a coma, his attorney said on Thursday.
Last month, Mubarak's lawyer said the ousted Egyptian leader was suffering from cancer.
Mubarak, 83, was forced from office in February after a popular uprising. He is due to stand trial on Aug. 3. for the killing of protesters and abuse of power, charges he denies.
He has been detained in hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh since mid-April after officials said he had heart problems during initial questioning.

Mubarak’s Obamagheddon came early for him.Now it will soon be our turn.
Obama should be ASHAMED of himself for instigating the death of Mubarak, a loyal US ally for many,many years.
Maybe Obama wants a taste of wht he has handed out?

You might say Obama should be arrested for attempted murder of Hosni Mubarek. If he dies, Obama is guilty of murder for he stabbed him in the back. His good friend, the one he had a state dinner with and was praised by Obama. This is how Obama treats his friends. So, how would he treat his enemies. I don’t know. Maybe look at Hitler.
He only has to go five years to outlast Ariel Sharon.

I wish him well and am curious of the future for the Egyptians. Lots of good folk there, and Mubarak did a great job of keeping the peace.......for a long time.....until Hussein Obama let him go.......
