Wallace asks Cain about “Tax fairness” - Cain says this whole thing about Buffet’s tax rates, taxing corporate jets, etc. is just class warfare.

Some have suggested smaller debt ceiling bumps with each one surgically cutting the budget. Will the left go along with that?

I don't see how we get meaningful cuts out of these socialists when they still control the Senate and the Presidency,without sacrificing our chances in 2012.

Did Rupert Murdoch Just Push Out ‘Favored Daughter’ Rebekah Brooks To Save Son James?

So why did Rupert Murdoch’s top executive Rebekah Brooks — the woman he thinks of as a daughter, and whom he has stood by as the phone-hacking scandal threatens to take down News Corp — resign today?

Even so, earlier this week amidst calls for her resignation from parliament, including Prime Minister David Cameron, Rupert stood firmly behind Brooks.

This followed last week’s speculation that he’d shut down his beloved News of the World in an effort to spare her.

So again, why now?

One answer is Rupert is running out of scape goats.

The turning point may have come last night when Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud, News Corp’s second-largest shareholder, called for Brooks to step down.

In a interview on the BBC bin Talal al-Saud said:

“”For sure she has to go, you bet she has to go. Ethics to me is very important. I will not tolerate to deal with a company that has a lady or a man that has any sliver of doubts on her or his integrity.”

Is there any way to cut the budget to balance in one year therefore avoiding the necessity to raise the debt ceiling?

Doubtful, as the cutting would have to be severe, and they won't do that. Even the $2.4 Trillion Obama supposedly mentioned would cut $240 Billion per year. Hefty, but the debt is multi-Trillions.

The offset is that the Obama Admin wants to spend more $$$, too. So, any decrease in spending would be offset by more spending -- on infrastructure and stuff, of course.

All this wrangling by both sides is nothing more than mixing the varieties of beans in the can. When it is finished, the spending will continue, and the current state of affairs will muddle along until the next budget fight.

This is so DESPARATELY needed.

IMHO there are two possible outcomes with debt ceiling issue - -
1) The GOP caves (like most of us think they will do),
or
2) The GOP stands firm, but will lose the PR war to the boy king and his propagandists

The outcome of 2012 is questionable in #2.


Why is Obamacare off the table, and not even being discussed? Bachmann gets my vote, for her pledge of repealing Obamacare - In her ads she states "You can take it to the bank and cash that check".

Face The NAtion - On the McConnell plan, Bob Schaiffer asks, Why is Congress concentrating on “cover stories” with this plan. Isn’t that the “height of hypocrisy? Durban says, why, yes it is, Bob!

Coburn - Agrees the McConnell plan is a political plan but doesn’t solve the policy problems. He hasn’t decided whether or not he will support it. Right now, he’s tending against it. Proposing his own plan of spending cuts - 9 Trillion.

For 2010, the Social Security withholding was 6.2% for wages up to $106,800 in wages. The Medicare withholding was 1.45% with no limit on wages.

For 2011 only, the FICA (Social Security) percentage was lowered to 4.2%

That extra 2 cents in the takehome pay for every dollar earned was a very sneaky part of the “stimulus” of our country: the consumer society. It is also a reason for part of the huge disconnect between revenue in to the US government vs expenditures every month.

I wonder what workers are going to think next January if/when the paycheck loses its little bonus! No, I don’t wonder. I know they will blame Republicans.

It isn't only bad enough that they "hide" the goodies in the legislation, but they pass the real nasty responsibilities onto the new departments, bureaus, and agencies to write their own regulations at any time in the future, which really lends credibility to Piglosi's statement because all the damage gets implemented in the open ended regulations. In Piglosi's mind who cares what is in the legislation - they intend to inflict all the harm on their subjects through the regulations.

Marco Rubio is a fantastic communicator. I’m glad that he is getting on these shows. Everyone needs to hear his clear discussion of what is ailing our country.

Shieffer tries to go back to “Bush’s fault”, and Rubio quickly responds “When is is going to start getting better, Bob?”
