Sebelius: Obamacare's Penalty on Small Businesses a 'Great Incentive' for Growth
CNSNews ^ | 7/12/11 | Nicholas Ballasy

(CNSNews.com) - Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius told CNSNews.com on Monday that a provision in President Barack Obama's health-care law that requires small businesses to begin buying health insurance for their workers when they hire their 50th employee--or otherwise pay a penalty to the federal government--"will actually be a great incentive" for businesses to grow.

CNSNews.com asked Sebelius, “Part of the health care law requires small businesses that grow to over 50 employees to provide health insurance to their employees or face a penalty [starting in 2014]. Do you think that may affect their incentive to grow--small businesses--to above 50 employees?”

Sebelius: Obamacare's Penalty on Small Businesses a 'Great Incentive' for Growth

Upon reading this, the only image that comes to mind is that AFLAC commercial where the duck is trying to make sense of what Yogi Berra is saying and is rendered dumbfounded and speechless.

Problem is, that commercial was meant to be funny. Sebelius is such a moron that she's serious in saying this. Not funny, downright scary.

So if I grow my 3 man business into a 51 man business, even though there is not enough work to support 51 people, I’ll make out like a bandit??? Ya think??

These people are definitely insane.

There are many business’s that will get to 49 and quit growing for a long time/.

You don’t have to study calculus to figure that out.

I despised her father (former Ohio Gov Gilligan) with a passion. She’s truly of the same bloodline.

Hawaii employers, no matter how small, have to buy health insurance for any employee who works over 20 hours/week.

There are a lot of part time (under 20 hours/week) jobs in Hawaii.

I guess Hawaii businesses just don’t get Sebelius’ logic.

Seriously, I could not follow...

There’s a penalty for growing to over 50 employees,
and she asks if that wouldn’t be an incentive to grow larger than 50?

I understand that the left’s worldview is based on lies and illusion, but I really don’t see how you could come to this conclusion.

These Nazi’s are clueless on a business decision. If I have 55 employees it will be far cheaper to get rid of six and pay overtime to others then to buy healthcare mandates for 55. Duh!

Hmmm...lets see, do I hire that 50th employee and get forced into filing for bankruptcy, or do I hold the employee count to 49? Tough decision.

And WHO thinks 50 would always be the magic number? Barack and his regime of globalists would demand you buy “healthcare” for the babysitter if they could get aways with it.

That is the most ignorant reply from a politician that I have ever read (this includes Sheila Jackson Lee).

She’s not crazy. The translation of this is: we want companies to get used to starting without considering health-care costs (because the government, i.e. the people will be picking up that tab)
