I will go out on a limb here and predict the police will find the police acted ‘properly’.

The ‘police’ have become the ‘standing army’ our founders warned us of....

IMHO

The police ALWAYS WERE the ‘standing army’ our founders warned us of.

In colonial days, the king's army was the mechanism for enforcing the king's will on the people. In the early days of the Republic, there were no police. If the local sheriff or constable needed help catching or subduing some criminal, then he would request the help of the citizens. No law or order COULD be enforced if the common people didn't feel like helping enforce it. It created the situation where the government needed the active support of the people in order to operate.

Now, we have a standing army, the standing army that the Founders warned us of. Any government official who carries a weapon is part of it. FBI, DEA, TSA, local cop, whatever, it's the standing army.
