Sarah Palin appears to be designing her impending visit to Iowa to be as low-key as possible.
The former Alaska governor is slated to arrive in the small Iowa town of Pella on Tuesday to attend the premiere of "The Undefeated" -- a flattering documentary that highlights her accomplishments in office and bangs the drum for a potential insurgent campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. Though she is never lacking for attention, Palin's trip figures to be scrutinized especially closely, since it will mark her first appearance this year in the nation's first voting state.
Politico reported on Monday that Palin aides were reaching out to Iowa operatives and activists to set up meetings during her visit, citing Chuck Laudner, a former Iowa GOP executive director. But Laudner told RCP that he did not have a private meeting scheduled with Palin and that no one who works for the former governor had made contact with him.
Laudner said that he received an invitation to attend the festivities surrounding the movie premiere from Peter Singleton, a California native who moved to Iowa several months ago to help organize in the state in advance of a possible Palin presidential run. Singleton is acting on his own and is not a Palin aide but has often been confused for one as he has made his presence known across the state.
"Putting me on this list doesn't really mean much to me," Laudner told RCP. "I'm on a list to go to this event, but I didn't expect there was going to be high drama. . . . He just said be there, and I said OK."
For his part, Singleton confirmed to RCP that he has not been working with the Palin camp.

If she announces that she is not going to run....I may not be able to stop laughing at those that are so emotionally invested in the woman that they are darned near impossible to have a conversation with. The weeping and gnashing of teeth will be priceless.
That goes for both the pro AND anti-palin people. Both are far too emotionally invested in her running.
“..so why bother with these porkers..”
Because they’re Americans, same as you and I, good brother.
And there’re still Patriots there who love the country and care about what Obama and his Bolsheviks are trying to do to ALL of us. She’s got a “voice” that people want to hear.
Whether she runs or not, she’s doing a good job of drawing flak and distracting the stupid Mediots - not to mention driving the libs to froth at the mouth.
On election day there’s only ONE thing that matters - removing George Soro’s Shoeshine Boy and his Bolshevik commissars.
I agree 100% with that, and have thought from the beginning
(right after the McCain/Palin ticket lost) that her main and most useful function would be to capitalize on her ENORMOUS popularity, and help the RIGHT candidates get in:
this started with last years election for the Congressional candidates she got behind——NOW she’ll serve as lightning rod for the Tea Party -—which is what most are now saying
about Michelle Bachmann, but Bachmann is already in the thick of it as an announced candidate, and will have to prove as time goes on that she can survive the slings and arrows as one among many that Palin has already survived as a running mate and erstwhile NON-candidate for President.
Bachmann is hoping to catch the fire, or having it diverted to her, that seemed to be Palin’s birthright===everything is still fluid, though, but I do believe that Palin is doing the right things right now, and will agree NOT to run
if more of her power and appeal can be channelled more usefully to another candidate-—who is CERTAINLY NOT going to be Romney. Romney himself, with Huntsman as his VEEP choice, if he’s forced down our throats, will create more discord among the Tea Party than Obama created once it was clear he’d become the nominee.
And yes, I don’t think Palin will once again be someone’s running mate as VEEP. She CERTAINLY won’t be Bachmann’s VP—
just wouldn’t make sense politically to maximize the chances to beat Obama.

You don't know squat about what drives Sarah Palin. You are sounding more and more like pissant each passing day.
She is or she isn’t reaching out to GOP activists?
Anyone know what the truth is?
Correct on all counts.
Well, it’s safe to say ... one of us is correct. hehehehehehehe
Let me tell you now that my prediction is that Sarah ABSOLUTELY is running. And you can call me on it if I’m wrong. Nothing I’ve read or heard from her shows me that Sarah is a woman after big bucks for prosperity’s sake. Stephen Bannon did not devote a million of his own dollars to energize the base of a woman whose only plan is to remain cheerleader for less qualified candidates. Bob
Excuse me!!! She lost in 08???? As I recall McBipartisan lost in 08. Did I miss something really big? I thought McBipartisan ran for president. Bring me up to date. Is that true or not true?
Is it true or not true that Palin and her family have been savaged by both demrats and the Gop (Rinos)? Simple no trick question. Yes or no?
Name me one other GOP or Tea Party Conservative candidate who has endured a similar ordeal.
You’re sick, my friend and you are not a Constitutionalist American—if you’re American at all.
She will not be anyone’s VP. She’s either in for all the marbles, or not at all.
Running and failing will still be a money maker.
So, if she announces, are we going to have to put you two on suicide watch?
Well make sure to put crack people on your detail.
