'Trig will be a joy': Sarah Palin plays God in touching email about her unborn son's Down's Syndrome

* She addresses 'unreal, sad and confusing' news of son's Down's Syndrome
* Writes Trig 'may provide more challenges and more joy' than imagined
* Writes that others would have wanted to abort, or send sympathy
* Shows thoughtful, human side of controversial politician

Sarah_Palin 'played God' in a deeply touching email she wrote two weeks before her fifth child, Trig, was born with Down's Syndrome, it was revealed today.

The poignant message to family_and_friends, included in 25,000 pages of her private emails made public on Friday, may alter the way the former Governor of Alaska is viewed by the American public.

In April 2008, two weeks before Trig was born with Down's Syndrome, Mrs Palin sent the email to her friends and family from her official government account.

In the touching message, Mrs Palin writes from the voice of God, as 'Trig's creator, your heavenly father'. She addresses the 'unreal, sad and confusing' news that her soon-to-be born child will have Down's Syndrome. The letter's existence had previously known, but only very brief excerpts had been made public.

Writing as God, Mrs Palin wrote, 'I let Trig's mom have an exceptionally comfortable pregnancy so she could enjoy every minute of it...'

She wrote, 'Trig's mom and dad' were told early by doctors that the child 'may provide more challenges and more joy than what they ever may have imagined or ever asked for.

'This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective... and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet'. The letter also makes unlikely conspiracy theories that have long been circulating on blogs that Trig was actually born to Mrs Palin's unwed daughter Bristol....

All one has to do is compare prices.

An example of a tanning bed outlet. None of them go over five thousand dollars.

Meanwhile, the most expensive tanning bed in the world...comes to $34,000. That article was posted in January of this year.

Sarah Palin was out of office long before that.

I don't know what kind of tanning bed Palin may have purchased, but I'd like to see how this 'reporter' came to the conclusion that it cost $35,000.

He is absolutely precious. Disabled children like that can be a challenge, but also a great joy. His degree of retardation does not look that severe, I have seen a lot worse. Of course, the extent of the retardation will not really be known until he gets a little older.

The worst thing about people with Down Syndrome is that they are increased risk for ciliac disease, reduced immunuocompetence, cardiovascular disease and a very high risk of developing leukemias. Surprisingly though, they respond to chemo better than people without the syndrome. Not a clue why that is so but it’s a well documented fact.

If Obama wises up and puts Hilary on the ticket,

...he'll spend his next term ducking and dodging every shadow.

They are part of her staff. Probably dual use persons.

I’m sure everyone around her would protect her if push came to leftist PDS shove.

I’m going to print this letter and give it to my sister in law, the mom of a fellow with Sturge-Webber syndrome, who is a joy and a challenge, a young man I love without reservation.

I should have read it at home instead of at work. Good thing I had a box of tissues on my desk and my boss didn’t hear me sniffling. God bless Sarah Palin - what a heart He has given her.

We can all learn alot from Sarah Palin’s faith, strength, wisdom, leadership and grace.

It’s very humbling to witness.

Wagglebee, why didn’t Terry Schiavo Schindler have the same medical and rehabilitation opportunities as Gabby Giffords?

She would have had the same rehabilitation (in fact she WAS getting rehab before she won a lot of money, but her "husband" decided to murder her instead. Giffords has a husband who actually cares about his wife.

little by little hatred eats away at one’s soul. Some people don't realize that their hate hurts them the most...I think thats why Jesus, the Divine Healer tells us to pray for those that hate us and do good to those that persecute us....It takes the heavy burden of hate out of our heart and soul. Leaves the hater bending under their burden of hatred...Free's us to love others....

You used “Now they’re going to be all over this like flies on mutton.” but didn’t you mean “Like Circle Flies around Obama.”?

“They said she was ‘Playing God’ as in playing the part of God Speaking. I see no problem in that.”

Neither did that icon of American literature, Sam Clements. His book titled Letters From The Earth, uses the perspective of angels.

Close enough.
