I hope your ‘ancestor’ was more intelligent than you.

Palin won’t be depending on votes from quislings like you; conservatives are what counts.

They’re one and the same.

I agree with what you are saying Wolfstar.

Do we really think Palin had this innate knowledge of all aspects of Reveres life and times when she made her initial comments? I don’t.

And frankly if we are all buying into this new narrative that Sarah was simply challenging the conventional wisdom of the primary Revere story to enlighten the citizenry while trapping the MSM, then maybe Palin would have no problem talking further about other major historical events in US history in great detail.

I’m not someone who buys the liberal narrative that worthwhile candidates must all come from Harvard. On the other hand, color me skeptical of a candidate who took six years and five colleges or whatever it was to obtain her degree.

If people want to simply say they identify with Palin as a “real person” and they like her views on the issues, that is great. But then please respect those of us that aren’t particularly impressed with her.

Hmmm. Just checked Sam Adams’s accounts of the Boston Massacre and the word “British” troops never appeared, always redcoats, King’s troops, Lobsterbacks, etc.

So she just lucked into the accurate answer. Puhhhleeeaze, even Chis Wallace agreed she was correct.

Frankly you Palin haters are more ridiculous than her staunchest of supporters. Hit her on things than are substantive but give these silly, childish and inaccurate attacks a freakin break.

So, for your argument that Paul Revere could not and did not refer to the King’s troops as British troops while giving the alarm, you are just going to ignore the fact that Paul Revere, the Congress, and many others used the term “British troops” in addition to all of the other terms such as Regulars, King’s troops, and so forth before and after the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

All human beings are sometimes their own worst enemy. If you are claiming that Sarah Palin is not subject to the same human failings as the rest of us, I recommend you look in a mirror if you want to see a fool.

No one argued that Sarah Palin was infallible. In the instance with respect to her comments about Paul Revere, she was easily understood and accurate, while her critics were utterly wrong and miserable failures.

No, I’m saying-—and Hackett Fischer, who is the premier Revere biographer says-—that the term “the British are coming” simply wasn’t anything he would have said, because it wouldn’t resonate with mostly British Americans. Anyway, I just looked at the Sam Adams stuff and he’s mostly “troops,” “redcoats,” King’s troops,” etc. Pretty light on “British.” Have it your way, though, if you think it makes Palin a genius.

Palin has demonstrated admirably that she is the most politically astute person to rise up in decades.

She is far from being her own worst enemy, politically.

Her Revere comment was appropriately dismissive of the mediots, and technically correct, but admittedly a bit fluffy. Big deal, if that’s all they can come up with, they’re Feck’ed again. Next?

I’ll keep that in mind.

Thanks. It's not something that really takes long to do, and sometimes it can be useful when the MSM wants to convieniently "forget" something.

I categorically stated already that I do not support Sarah Palin for a politcal campaign. I also categorically stated it is wrong to falsely accuse her of being wrong in her statement about Paul Revere. You do your cause, whatever it may be, no good by deliberately misrepresenting what was said and written. Sarah Palin did not need to be a genius to simply report what may have already been presented in the museum she was exiting when she was asked the question.

Who are you going to believe, a present day historian, or the literal words “British troops” which appear on the documents created in the period 1767—1776 and Paul Revere’s own 18th Century letter?

Everything she says is based on a deep understanding of the subject. Most people don’t have such a deep knowledge of anything and are therefore easily persuaded by the MSM’s attempt to make Gov Palin appear dumb.

I will believe Sam Adams. He should know. And, yes, Fischer, who has studied the context of all this, is pretty clear (as is almost every other historian of the Revolutionary era) that Americans still considered themselves British. Anyone can find “a” source or even two or three that appear to make their point. That’s why we have historians who look at the entirety of source for context. But you are obviously welcome to think that Americans thought that the British were somehow “different” or separate from themselves.
