Yup, you are correct. There are many reasons why I left CA. :D

The go-along-get-along attitude of most CA conservatives is one of them. They’re getting screwed and even if they realize it, few of them will do anything about it.

They’re essentially selling the rope with which they will be hanged, and that’s not a brilliant idea.

Ok, well, he seems kind of angry. Hostile. Just seems that way to me. Every State has hundreds of thousands if not millions of good people who share conservative values. Including Cali. I’ts not as easy to pick up and just leave a state as some might think. Family and loved ones is probably the biggest consideration. Not easy to leave them. Just not that easy.

We just came through FtWorth on 290 this past weekend, I wish I had thought about the In n’ Out Burger. Where is it?

The one in Ft. Worth is not open yet. They have 2 planned for Ft. Worth (I Think). The only 2 locations opened are in North Dallas. Frisco and Allen. Frisco is insane. Always a line and at lunch and Dinner? An hour wait.

Allen, always a line too but not as bad as Frisco. IN N OUT Just needs to build more and they plan on it. Arlington, Ft. Worth, Dallas off the Central Expressway, etc. We’re going tomorrow around 4. Hopefully, it won’t be as crazy. Anything less than half hour wait, I”m good.

As always forbidden fruit is always best...stolen watermelons when I was a kid...that being said (and yes I’ve had in-out burgers) it will be a cold day in hell when I stand in line to get a hamburger...even if it was free. Now a free lobster tail might get me to stand in line for awhile!

There are 15 TexMex places in the little town of Addison alone, for Pete’s sake...

There were three new food places opened in our town of less than 5K the past few months. One hardware store added three full time employees since they added a nursery and garden area.

We just came through FtWorth on 290

290 runs from Houston to Austin, on to Fredricksburg, etc., so you must be thinking about a different road.

Well at least that’s one thing we’ve got over Miami. They may win the NBA title, but they still have to live in Miami.

My friend...you have hit the nail on the head. My partners and I developed a hotel on the old Ontario speedway in the mid 80’s and at that time it was still OK for the most part...but I remember telling the General Contractor at the time...CA was headed for tough times after having to jump through environmental hoops to get permits and fooling around with union thugs. I distinctly remember some dumbass union pukes trying to throw beer cans up and hit some guys that were non union putting up our Hilton sign on the top of a 10 story building. I ran a union steward off the site one time and was told I couldn’t do that...to which I replied...I just did..and the next thing I’ll do is fire the sub that let the worthless POS on our property...Never heard another word. Guess they figured that us hicks from Oklahoma didn’t know better (grins)

We are going Houston to Ardmore OK in a couple of weeks. We try to go through Dallas mid afternoon to avoid traffic. I am a Houstonion, don't know my way around Dallas and don't know where Frisco and Allen are located. We go I45 to I35 to Ardmore. I would stop and wait to check out this burger joint I hear so much about.

Look for DOJ / EPA / NEA and others to show in Texas declaring all business, commerce and our entire way of life in violation of their “laws.” Stop orders will rain down and federal permits for stepping outside of the front door will be mandated.

ALL of the current special session of the Texas Legislature will be subject to review and denial by Homey-land Insecurity and Holder’s People.

What is there about leaving California to get away from California and going to Texas because it is the way that it is - successful.
Once in Texas I want to bring California with me.
Why not just accept Texas as Texas and adjust to its way and what it has??

Who said anything about bringing California with me? I don’t want their unions, their regulations, their Govt. spending, or their values.

But I wouldn’t mind a few of their restaurants. And the only thing I am bringing is capital and some money to invest such as in a new home, pool, floor and already a new car. Bought form a Texas Dealership.

To ask for a little kindness in return is not too much to ask for now is it? And gratitude would be a bonus I guess.

If you are going to be on the I35 through Dallas, you would be about 15 minutes from the IN N OUT Burger in Frisco.

After you go through Dallas, heading North on the I35, about 15 minutes north of Dallas it the 121. Take the 121 towards McKinney (I think the sign says “McKinney”) and proceed about 10 minutes to the Preston offramp. Make a left on Preston and the IN N OUT Burger is just a few blocks up on the right.

So it’s not that far from the I35, maybe 7 or 8 miles due east on the 121 to Preston. Then off at Preston, Left (north) and up a few blocks on the right.

Good luck and enjoy.

Actually, you are about half hour from the IN N OUT in Frisco as you go through Dallas North on the I35. I meant to say 15 minutes from the 121. The I35 and 121 cross each other in Lewisville. So you are about 15 minutes or less from the Preston off ramp of the 121.

I guess “authentic Southern CA” mexican food is different from “Authentic Tex Mex”.....it’s just preferences. Point well taken. thanks.

FRiend, you need to take a trip out to West Texas/El Paso. I lived there 15 years, and they serve the best Mexican food in the world.

My mother-in-law had the best recipe for enchiladas verdes, while my father-in-law served the best chile colorado I've ever tasted (and it was hot, too!).

I miss my chiles from Hatch (NM)...the world's finest!
