The Job Nobody Wants: GOP's Growing 2012 Dropout List (The Palin handwriting is on the wall)
Yahoo! News ^ | May 17, 2011 | Eleanor Rodham Clift

Posted on 05/17/2011 12:01:36 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Donald Trump is the latest Republican to bail out of the 2012 presidential race, joining Mike Huckabee and Haley Barbour. Doesn’t anybody want the GOP nomination? Eleanor Clift on why the contest can’t draw a crowd.

Running for president is not for the faint-hearted. The level of personal scrutiny is intense, the financial demands daunting, and the chance of winning iffy against a well-funded incumbent.

“we are just not going to get through the propaganda that has destroyed her reputation.”

We’re not going to get through it if we believe one iota of it....if we don’t believe it then we will fight against it...we will spread the truth in face of the lies...we will pound the truth out just like the media pounds out the lies. Those of us that believe in her...believe in her...period....we don’t care what “they” say about her..we KNOW the truth and we are going to yell it out!

In case you haven’t noticed, a completely unqualified, unvetted incompetent who dealt drugs in college is now President.

And you think that's gone unnoticed?

Other than by Eric Holder's people, I mean.

“we will pound the truth out just like the media pounds out the lies.”

Like I said, have you noticed who’s sitting in the White House lately?

Look, I do like Sarah, but to ignore reality isn’t going to help us, AT ALL.

Palin people are on the ground - it’s called Organizing4Palin: Palin knows the founder of O4P and mentioned her name in a speech not too long ago praising her. Also Sarah Palins staff have told people to join O4P

Sarah said in a interview that she doesn’t need a exploratory committee if she runs, she will just jump into the race.

She just sent out mailers to thousands asking for money

She hired a new foreign policy adviser and a chief of staff this year, there are rumors she has hired other staff members and that is the reason she hasn’t released her PAC quarter numbers because it will tip people off to what is going on

I disagree. Once she wins the nomination and people start to see her speak, they will realize they were sold a bill of goods and that she is not a “dangerous psychopath.”

They’ve turned her in to a caricature, for most of the population.

When they do see the real Sarah, that nonsense will go away. They pictured Reagan as a dunderhead who was good at reading lines; that perception only lasted until people got to really see him.

Palin, Gingrich, Romney, Paul.

All the others are unknown, and Republicans don’t vote for unknowns.

You want more people who can win on a list?

Dan Quayle. Colin Powell. Condi Rice. Lamar Alexander.
I don’t support any of them, but Republicans NEVER vote for someone new. And those are well known enough. Add maybe Tom Ridge, Steve Forbes, Pat Buchanan, Elizabeth Dole.

One of those names might provoke a “hmmmm, yeah, I know him, he’s alright” But no one knows Daniels, Pawlenty, Santorum, Cain, Johnson.

Republicans come up with the “top Republican who is running this year” as the nominee. Daniels is not the top Republican. Because the top Republican is not someone who is unknown.

Hindsight will tell us who the Republicans thought the top Republican was in 2012. But no plausible case can be made that Daniels is the top Republican, or that Pawlenty is the top Republican, or that anybody who is not already a household name is the “top Republican”.

Palin is probably the top Republican right now. Because Republicans give the nomination to the top Republican, that makes Palin the front runner.

Palin, Romney, Gingrich, Paul - all can make the case that they’re the top Republican, but Palin’s case is the easiest to make.

Daniels, Pawlenty, Huntsman, Santorum, Johnson, Cain, others - none can make the case that they’re the top Republican.

Newt will be the next to bite the dust.

I’m thinking Rick Santorum.

The person sitting in the White House did so because of the trickery played upon the American people...yes! But there were those of us already learning about the real him. The problem in that election was that Soros was really brilliant in that he picked a candidate that was articulate, intelligent, charismatic, young, black, white, Christian with a Muslim name. People clammored after him because he seemed to be the perfect first black President. I was going to vote for him because of all those factors. Fortunately for me I started researching him and found the more I looked the lest I found. I sounded the warning but it was too late at that time because people were going to vote in the first black President come hell or high water. Sarah Palin has been crucified in the press...she has felt the heat...she has stood up...standing tall and continuing the bring the fight to the people. She is out there....naked...scarred, bruised and battered...but not one blasted thing has ever been found out about her that is truly shameful or harmful. There is that old saying (once again) fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.....that is going to be a battle cry in this next election. It is going to be a real doozy.

And Palin is much more famous now than Clinton was in October 1991.

But if I was Palin, I wouldn’t wait tremendously long.

“Once she wins the nomination and people start to see her speak”

Those of us that have had the privilege of meeting her up close have all said the same thing about her....she is real. When you get a chance to meet her, to see her you KNOW without a doubt that this woman is exceptional...amazing...unique. There is something about her that is almost unexplainable. The crowds that will go to see her will see this. I firmly believe that.

I think Sarah Palin is a Great American conservative, however I don’t see her wanting to subject her husband and children to more scrunity in the Media..

Today they reported Willow is now out of control, getting a speeding ticket in her Escalade....

Her kids are her priority and her husband...Does Todd Palin even want to be a first Man? give up his manly duty of working and caring financially for his kids and wife?

The Family is the cornerstone and strength of a civilization...

I think Sarah would choose her family over being the President of the USA.....

When they do see the real Sarah, that nonsense will go away. They pictured Reagan as a dunderhead who was good at reading lines; that perception only lasted until people got to really see him.

The problem is that unlike Reagan, Palin already has had a great deal of exposure in the national media as McCain's VP. People have heard her speak, they saw her debating Biden, and she's been more or less in the spotlight since 2008. Reagan wasn't a VEEP candidate in the 76 general election and wasn't seen much outside of the GOP. For many people, the first time they really saw him was in the debates.

I'm not saying Sarah is a dunderhead. I'm just saying that she's already made her "first impression" with most voters, and changing opinions is tougher than creating opinions.

The media was more powerful in 1980, and they didn’t like Reagan, but Reagan won.

If Palin runs, we’ll just have to see how she does.

If she runs, she’ll be able to make her case directly to the Republican Primary Voters.

If she wins the Nomination, she’ll be able to make the case directly to Americans.

It might be a tough challenge for Palin to come across as not at all what the media has portrayed her as, but, if she gets in a debate, she’ll do ok. </s>

Does Todd Palin want to give up his work to be a First Man?

What does the First Man do???

He just does not strike me, as someone who would want to take that position on......

There is no more scrutiny the media can put on her family than it already has......they have NOT stopped scrutinizing her and there is no more they can do.
