In the late ‘60’s, a group of students diss-assembled a VW beetle. They then carried it into the auditorium and re-assembled it on the stage. All done in the dark of one night.

Some kids from auto shop volunteered to remove same VW the next day. Somehow they just happened to have the right tools to do the job. (metric wrenches were rare in those days)

Now, now we can’t go blaming people for things without proof.

We should just be thankful that many teens like to do nice things like undoing pranks.

At my college (an engineering school), my senior year, a young genius with a rebel streak did a great prank with the help of some buddies. He covered the gold dome on top of the admin building with black paper, and added huge cardboard “ears” to make it look like a huge Mickey Mouse hat.

And he had also broken into the building and reprogrammed the computer that rang the bells in the old building. On the hour (and maybe half-our too?) it would play a short song on the bells. He programmed it to play the “Mickey Mouse theme song continuously!” (Well, until they turned it off after getting through the chain and padlock he put on the door).

I think he even turned himself in so he could take the decorations off (did not harm the building). And perhaps to claim his fame for his prank. He had some small fine or detention or something, and he wasn’t allowed at graduation ceremonies - but still got his diploma. I imagine some at the school were impressed by his abilities.

A few years after I graduated I heard where for a senior “prank” some kids blockaded one of the science buildings, plugged the drains, and turned on all the faucets, hoses, hydrants, etc. and did millions of dollars of damage.

Senior prank day was not allowed after that.
