Why is this news?

Nuclear plants, like all power generations facilities, regularly shut for maintenance, repair, and some for yearly refueling. You can’t send those ready kilowatts down the lines if they’re in need of repair, so the plant shuts down.

This is a NO BIGGY!

It's news to those of us in the south who are still affected by the horrible storms that devastated areas of several states. No biggy to you but a huge Biggie to us if one of the 266 recorded tornado's that were up to an EF-4 hit it. It helps when you read the 2 tiny paragraphs in the link.

TVA officials said maintenance work is being performed at the station which shut safely April 27 when a line of severe storms and tornadoes knocked out electrical power to the facility.
