But, for the sake of discussion, let us assume that there are certain truths in the Hindu religion. After all it is a very ancient religion that predates the appearance of the prophets of the One True God, which took place tens of thousands of miles away in a different land when they did occur.
The list of not total frauds in this religion is quite impressive:
Swami Ragneesh - the Oregon guru whose followers poisoned people. Also a sex pervert, I believe. Owned hundreds of Rolls Royces.
Swami Muktananda - had a big spread in Santa Monica. Had a penchant for having sex with children of his followers. 13 year old girls, in particular.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - the Beatles wrote "Sexy Sadie" about him after they found out he was having sex with his disciples.
Swami Kriyananda - aka Donald Walters. Also fond of the female disciples, From Wikipedia: " eight women testified under oath that Kriyananda had used his power as the leader of Ananda to obtain sexual gratification from them when they were in their 20s. "
So do any of them behave in an ethical manner at all?
And we know God had enough of the pagan religions nonesense...so he began to rid the world of them...yet again! First the flood to wipe out the practices...then Israel was raised up to rid the Me of them.....but next time he'll do the job again Himself..and they will be no more for eternity.
There are indeed authentic holy people who teach traditional Hindu dharma.
The ones you listed are not, as you noted. The most famous names are usually exploiters, frauds, tricksters and basically fiends.
It’s the same in every religion, generally speaking. There are plenty of sincere, humble and pious Hindu teachers. They just don’t make the headlines.
Um... dont, know I dont worship them...
Good thing there aren’t any Christian religious leaders that are total frauds...
