Correct. If Prosser loses, the Walker reforms will be voided by the Supreme Court. Period. This will be an exercise of raw power, and they will invent any ridiculous legal rationale they damn well please.
I cannot fathom why so many freepers are being naïve about this.
The national ramifications of a Prosser loss are horrendous.
I'm not being expressly naïve, but I am 2000 miles away, and not a WI citizen. I will watch the results with interest, and pray for the republic. I live in a right to work state. I admired Reagan's view of PATCO. Government unions? Socialist parasites. Fire them all.
Good points. If Prosser is defeated, it will embolden and encourage all the Left, including the petition drives underway now against Republican state Senators (a challenge to one has already been successful). In addition to the tangible effect on the balance of the supreme court, there is also the impact on the battle for hearts and minds, including the 2012 election. The last thing we need is for Wisconsin voters to start feeling remorse over last Novembers sweeping changes and have to give back the momentum that has been gained.
I think Prosser wins, about 53-47. The union riots in the Capitol building got lots of publicity, but I think the majority of Wiconsin voters, who, lets not forget, only a few months ago elected Walker AND a GOP legislature, are disgusted with what happened, and can't wait to vote....
