Copper is seen frequently as a great predictor of economic health, but a lot of the time it moves in line with the overall market, and thus its use as a barometer is of limited use.

While you’re at it, hoard the American 5 cent coin. The melt value of the metal in it is now equal to 7.0134 cents. 28% profit, less costs, once you accumulate, say, a ton or so.

LOL “The market hascome back nicely...” Today must be comedy day. The market hasn’t come up nearly what gold has and don’t even talk about silver. It hasn’t even kept pace with the dollar, which is the point...

And the nice thing about ‘hoarding’ the nickel is this: you will never pay more than 5 cents for it, and, it will never be worth less...

Actually, the $.05 piece is not all nickle. it is a copper-nickel blend. It is mostly copper.

Just btw, non-precious metals have been somewhat skittish since that article was written, speaking generally.

Freeper Travis McGee turned me onto nickels a couple years ago. I’ve been saving them ever since.
