Fukushima Nuclear Plant To Be Decommissioned: Govt
TOKYO (Kyodo)--The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant is in no condition to restart and is most likely to be decommissioned as it has caused many critical problems since a devastating earthquake and tsunami hit northeastern Japan on March 11, the top government spokesman suggested Sunday.
''Looking at the situation objectively, (the answer to the question of) whether it can be operated again is clear,'' Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said at a news conference, when asked whether the government plans to close the plant once its overheating reactors are brought under control.
It is the first time that a senior government official has mentioned about the likelihood of it being decommissioned.

In any event yes, I read the readings from inside the plant. Similar to the front gate readings they can not indicate the level of radiation being released into atmosphere because they are not down wind of the plumes given off by the plants.
With this gaping lack of information, or purposeful oversight, one is left/forced to speculate as to the full extent of radiation contamination to the surrounding area.
Simply put what I believe is that Pu-239 and U-235 containing fuel rods are burning inside the #3 containment vessel and the smoke is being released into the air repeatedly to "relieve pressure". Furthermore, I also believe exposed fuel rods have been burning in several of the reactors' storage pools, outside of containment for several days now. Both of these are Level 7 radiation accidents and the amount of fuel involved is far greater than Chernobyl's.
Chernobyl did not have the good fortune of favorable winds blowing the smoke out to sea but the Soviets attempted to hide the release nonetheless. The Japanese are having far greater success in this to date thanks in great part to the disingenuous politicization of nuclear energy.
Some people have been questioning the official reporting of contamination and have been received as if we're a bunch of Pol Pot cadre rounding up people wearing glasses.
I will probably have a copy of both of Josyp Terelya's books in a couple of weeks or less...
Just as some people consider the situation out of control (I do not), I think that discussion on wormwood meaning Chernobyl is something people might find interesting or they might want to disregard.
Whether or not there is a word for radiation in the Bible is the point of discussing wormwood and Chernobyl.

The city (Chernobyl) is named after the Ukrainian word for mugwort or wormwood (Artemisia vulgaris), which is "chornobyl". The word is a combination of the words chornyi (чорний, black) and byllia (билля, grass blades or stalks), hence it literally means black grass or black stalks. That may signify burnt grass, perhaps prior to cultivation. 44 posted on 06/09/2010 11:53:21 AM PDT by Scythian To: Scythian
Below are some previous discussions on the subject from Freerepublic.
Also, from the thread:
Japan Nuke Disaster Could Be Worse Than Chernobyl CHERNOBYL means WORMWOOD in the Ukrainian Language. Although the word wormwood appears several times in the Old Testament, translated from the Hebrew term לענה (la'anah), e.g., Deuteronomy 29:18 and Jeremiah 9:15, its only clear reference as a named entity occurs in the New Testament, in the Book of Revelation: "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter." What’s the date on that picture, is it current?
I don’t know. The counts seem to be tied to what scale the meter was set to. http://www.geigercounters.com/CompareModels.htm
Here’s an interesting article about decontamination; http://www.vpr.net/npr/134627643/
Here’s an interesting site that migth put the cpm in the decontamination article in perspective with real life; http://www.blackcatsystems.com/science/radiation.html
Interesting that the dust on his TV was 1300 CPM...
The following is a quote from http://progressivelever.com/2011/03/18/geiger-counter-numbers-how-bad-is-bad/
CPM still seems to depend on what scale the geiger counter is set on.
What do the Radiation Network CPM numbers mean with regards to health risk?
With the examples of radiation dose listed above, we can correlate how long it would take to experience those effects based on a hypothetical Geiger counter CPM number.
So, lets use the number 100, since this is the threshold that the Radiation Network website has chosen. The Cs137 calibration factor listed above (120 CPM) was converted to obtain the proper factored results listed below (0.83x). Higher CPM numbers are also listed for relevancy.
Days to receive dose for increase cancer risk of 1 in a 1,000
432 (at 100 CPM)
86 (at 500 CPM)
28 (at 1,500 CPM)
4 (at 10,000 CPM)
Days for earliest onset of radiation sickness
25,937 (at 100 CPM)
5,187 (at 500 CPM)
1,729 (at 1,500 CPM)
259 (at 10,000 CPM)
It took 530,000 clean up workers because each worker was only permitted 90 seconds of time working in the contaminated zone, (per an interview I heard given by one of the workers.)
END TIMES LIST—Worth checking these several posts out by
dynoman;
THX BIG FOR YOUR POSTS AND LINKS.
MUCH appreciated.
THX.
The ones permitted only 90 seconds were the “biorobots”, a small fraction of the 530,000.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Thx.
They're building one here in Pascagoula, MS. as we speak.
DOODNESS!
HOw about this, 150,000 CPM from from radionuclides used in a PET scan —>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhxqzNY4ipQ
