These are REAL heroes there on the ground trying to wrestle control back. As long as something doesn't drive them away like a major radiation leak at one of the reactors, then there's a good chance they will eventually regain control.

There are some of us who realize we are on the other side of the earth, information even onsite is incomplete, and would rather wait for concrete information rather than run around screaming with our heads up our asses and our hands over our heads.

Thank you so much for that information. We all had no idea Japan was on the other side of the earth. Dang! That explains why I landed in Tokyo for my short Beijing connecting flight. (I wondered about that for a long time)./s

I expect that almost everyone here, and particularly those who mention in their posts that details are sketchy and just coming in, is aware that details are sketchy and just coming in.

BTW, how anyone can, as you so eloquently wrote: run around screaming with [their] head up [their] a$$ and [their] hands over [their] head is completely beyond me. I think you will need to find a mirror and camera.

If you want to wait for information why don't you go away instead of reading here and berating posters?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people (and not just some Freepers) who think unalloyed panic and disinformation is just peachy.

So there are actually people besides freepers who think this? Well, count me disappointed. I was thinking FR had cornered the globe on that, everyone here being so stupid and all - well, except you, that is.

Look sparky, this is an unbelievable tragedy that is happening real time to a country that has grown to be a great friend and ally since the 50's. Understandably, there will be confusion and incorrect information as we all anxiously try to find out what is happening. We need to be sending help and prayers.

So do everyone here a favor and save that kind of crap for trolls and DUmmies.

In 1983, when I was a freshman in high school, I had to take a cource called I.P.S. (Introduction to Physical Science). The Physics teacher taught it, and he had an unusual sense of humor, which might stem from the fact that he once helped build ICBMs. Someone once asked him in class about the prospect for a war with Russia, fighting in Europe, etc., etc.

His response was that the LAST thing we would have to worry about was fighting the Russians. He pointed out the second-floor windows. “See those refineries? That’s a primary target. They might have a nuke targeted on the Navy yard, but they’ll have six or seven pointed at those. They might try to destroy the Navy yard if they can, but they’ll make DAMN sure to destroy those refineries. You won’t be fighting the Russians: if the balloon ever goes up, we’re dead.”

He was smiling his usual wry smile at the time. You just had to know him, I guess. My point is that the beginning, middle, and end of my concern about the refineries and reactors around here is the fact that they make for attractive targets, and p*ss on the greenies.

“Plus another tsunami right now”

I think they are backing off on that now. Latest it was a shoreline landslide that caused the wave.

Not good then. The last thing they need is for something like a serious contamination release to force them to from the area.

Catchwords for the event for many:

When in fear,

When in doubt,

Run in circles,

Scream and shout!

Stuff your self righteousness and get a grip on yourself.

It is people like you that are getting people riled up.

I expect that almost everyone here, and particularly those who mention in their posts that details are sketchy and just coming in, is aware that details are sketchy and just coming in.

Wow. Really? I will bet that for every post that I can find where someone delivers that caveat you purport to see, there are ten people who post the same crap with their hysterical unsupported emotional rants. Just like you.

So, I am really glad for you "Sparky" that you are so educated on Japan and what is going on. I lived there for several years and have some understanding of the Japanese who I like and respect. I have been praying for them since this began along with sending financial aid.

So I don't need a hysterical turd like you telling me how to conduct myself.

You get it, "Sparky"?

RE: Bill Nye

And an Anthropogenic Global Warming alarmist. Also, he fatuously defended Obama’s nonexistent, taking-us-back-to-the-stone-age space program. Maybe that’s why his ex-wife supposedly tried to poison him...

Cheers

You’re right about that. They’re not very forthcoming with that kind of information it seems.
