The Texas Tribune ^ | March 1, 2011 | Ross Ramsey

Posted on 03/04/2011 8:34:05 PM PST by JeepersFreepers

[RINO Texas State Sen.] Deuell has been a proponent of a 10-cent increase in gasoline taxes for some time and said he would support a broader sales tax too. He also said the state should use "most" of the $9.4 billion Rainy Day Fund. Deuell defended his position as a conservative one, though he acknowledged that it's not the company line for a Republican. "...I would hate to make cuts this session and come back in two years and find out we didn't have to make those cuts," he said. "We're the 45th-lowest tax state," Deuell said. He said the cuts required by the current budget would be more damaging to the state than the tax increases he's talking about.

After electing a Republican majority in the Texas Legislature (a super-majority in the House) and a Republican Governor, solving the budget shortfall by reforming spending rather than increasing taxes is being undermined by RINOs like Deuell.

Most all owe their soul to the elitists. Winning back America seems to be a large dark hole.

What a brilliant idea in a world of $5.00/gallon gas this summer.

We’re the 45th lowest state in taxes. If it wasn’t for rinos we’d be 50th.

Someone on an earlier thread said that taxpayers should unionize and STRIKE.

Sounds better with every thread I read, tonight.

It’s an atrocity. TX should be number 50 in taxes!

Primary challenges should be mandatory for all Republicans who talk this way.

Dear Rep. Dimwit: I understand there are airplanes leaving Austin for various places in California, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts on a daily basis. Feel free to take one to one of those places where folks think more like you. Do it soon. In fact, I’d be happy to buy you a ticket. One way only.

I am not generally in support of tax exemptions, I think the Tax code should be uniform with little to no exceptions.

But I also think government even State government could and should be a lot slimer. I don’t think there is anything so valuable in government that can’t be cut.

Sit down you motard RINO and shut up! I just hope the Republicans don’t give this guy one second of attention but I ain’t holding my breath.

East of me, go figure.

Hope he trips while coon hunting.

I'll let some family over that way know that he needs to go back to doing whatever he did before he lifted his skirt.
