CONFIRMED: Border Agent Terry Was FORCED TO USE BEANBAGS Against Armed Mexican Killers...

The outrageous rumors were true.

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was forced to use beanbags against armed Mexican killers before he was shot dead in Arizona in December.

Agent Brian Terry was forced to defend himself and this country with beanbags.

The Arizona Daily Star reported:

Border Patrol agents shot beanbags at a group of suspected bandits before the men returned fire during a confrontation in a remote canyon, killing agent Brian Terry with a single gunshot, records show.

And an illegal immigrant wounded in the gunbattle who is now the only person in custody linked to the slaying contends he never fired a shot, according to FBI search warrant requests filed in the U.S. District Court in Tucson.

The documents provide the most detailed version yet of what happened in the deadly gunbattle Dec. 14 in Peck Canyon, northwest of Nogales.

The documents say the group of illegal border entrants refused commands to drop their weapons after agents confronted them at about 11:15 p.m. Two agents fired beanbags at the migrants, who responded with gunfire. Two agents returned fire, one with a long gun and one with a pistol, but Terry was mortally wounded in the gunfight.

Border Patrol officials declined to answer questions about protocol for use of force, citing the ongoing investigation.

But Terry’s brother, Kent Terry, said the other agents who were there that night told him that they were instructed to use the non-lethal beanbags first. It’s a policy that doesn’t make sense to Kent Terry.

“You go up against a bandit crew that is carrying AKs, and you walk out there with guns loaded with beanbags – I don’t get it,” Terry said in a phone interview from Michigan. “It’s like going to the Iraqi war with one knife. It boggles my mind. … These guys (Border Patrol agents) are professionals; they should be able to use their judgment call on their own.”

But, don’t worry. Barack Obama says the border is as safe today as it’s ever been.

Correction we live in a country governed by people who are unwilling to defend this nation by whatever means needed from foriegn enemies, but would gladly put a bullet in the back of your head for not voting for them.

So we supply arms to cartels and then send our BP agents to defend the border with bean bags? Somebody better burn for this.

“WHY, all suddenly, is FREEP gutless to publish a comment to the effect that Obama tacitly approves, and even encourages the Mexican invasion of our borders by the cartels”

I don’t know what you are talking about, actually...

Are you referring to the freeper “freep”? Are you referring to your comments 55 & 56 (double post)- that were in fact published? Are you...attempting to bait me...?

A distinction without a difference, as we elected our government and tolerate its perfidy.

Not sure why so many here are so quick to blame the current administration. I would like to see just how long this policy has been in place. I would not doubt for a single moment that the same rules applied for the last 10 years. Not just two.

Um, maybe because the violence is rapidly escalating, and Obama is not acting accordingly in responding to it? I realize he has more pressing concerns like Motown parties and hoops.

I agree 100% they should NOT have been armed with beanbags and the decision-makers for that travesty need to be held accountable.

Now, that being said. Never shoot first with a beanbag if they are holding AKs.

Let me be more specific:

After the USS Cole was bombed and a huge volume of sea water was pouring into the side of the ship, the men feared the type of follow-up attack that would result in a full sinking:

So the sailors went, weapons in hand and requested ammo:

Their request was denied by the Captain of the USS Cole cuz it was his jugement that his sailors having ammo AFTER the attack that had just occured might result, “in an accident”.

That clarifies it.

OFFICIOUS, PROCESS-ORIENTED BUREAUCRATS TO THEIR LAST BREATH.

Outrageous?

Not much difference than the military guards having to use rubber bullets at Abu Ghraib and other Iraqi prisons. According to reports, during one uprising, the military guards were forced out of position, until they got outside support from other military who apparently had real ammunition.

PC is destroying us!

AK-47 vs beanbag or rubber bullet. Wanna guess the most likely outcome?

‘They’ are fighting real wars, while ‘we’ are fighting PC wars.

Did AG Holder come up with this?

GW Bush was president when military guards at Abu Ghraib and other Iraqi prisons were issued rubber bullets.

Holder is only perpetuating the PC that has been rampant for years.
