“Utah also issues illegals drivers licenses.”

Back that statement up. It’s not true. Also, there were deportations under Bush, but none since Obama has taken office. Below is criteria for obtaining a license, which Obama himself couldn’t do because it requires a Birth Certificate to be presented and scanned.

LAW CHANGES:

Effective January 1, 2010, Utah Driver License Division has big changes that affect EVERYONE:

ALL applicants are required to provide the following when needing a duplicate (including applying for an endorsement), applying for an original or renewing a Utah Driver License, Utah Driving Privilege Card, or Utah Identification Card:

*Proof of identity (state certified birth certificate in English or accompanied by a translated copy if in another language) by showing evidence of original or copies certified by the issuing agency;

*Proof of social security number or ITIN;
*If address is different than the address on your current Utah record, you will need to provide two proofs of Utah residence address (not more than 60 days old);

*Proof of legal/lawful presence; and

*Evidence of name change, if applicable

One can use a passport instead of BC.

Too bad Utah licenses already issued to many thousands of illegals are good for 5 years.

And will the illegals be able to do the 5 year license renewal without providing the documents you mention?

Feb 17, 2011--States Revise Rules on Driver's Licenses for Illegal Immigrants as National ID Approaches

"The last three states to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses -- Washington, New Mexico and Utah -- are now steeped in battles to revise their laws as a federal deadline approaches for all 50 states to issue identity cards that meet a new national standard."

"In Utah, which last year became the only state to offer a special class of driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, the Republican-controlled Senate is considering a bill that would eliminate the state's driving privilege card by the end of the year. The card, which doesn't allow people to board a plane, get a job or buy alcohol, is held by nearly 42,000 illegal immigrants since the statehouse established the option six years ago largely to provide a way for non-citizens to obtain auto insurance."

This article was written ten days ago. What has changed? What has happened to the 42,000 cards already issued?
