More details have emerged of Lara Logan's terrifying ordeal at the hands of a frenzied mob.
The 39-year-old foreign correspondent for CBS News show 60 Minutes was separated from her film crew in Cairo on February 11 and surrounded by as many as 200 men in Tahrir Square at the height of the anti-Mubarak demonstrations.
According to one source, reported in The Sunday Times newspaper, sensitive parts of her body were covered in red marks that were originally thought to have been bite marks.
After further examination they were revealed to be from aggressive pinching.
It has also been revealed that she was stripped, punched and slapped by the crowd, which was labelling her a spy and chanting 'Israeli' and 'Jew' as they beat her.
And medical sources have revealed that marks on her body were consistent with being whipped and beaten with the makeshift poles that were used to fly flags during the demonstration.
An unnamed friend of the reporter told The Sunday Times: 'Lara is getting better daily. The psychological trauma is as bad as, if not worse than, the physical injuries. She might talk about it at sometime in the future, but not now.'

Liberals LOVE these “freedom fighters” and believe the horrors they do to other people is justified. I have no sympathy for her. She went into a situation stupidly and with her liberal convictions that she supports them and that as a “journalist” she somehow is superior to others and will not be harmed.

People need to learn the difference between irresponsible behavior and guilty behavior before they pop off and give the site a bad name.
I don’t think she deserved this.
I think that when we are raised in a civilized society, we assume we are safe no matter where we go. I don’t think most people in the western world realize that the culture in the middle east accommodates people behaving like animals.
Yes, she should have known better. Hopefully someone will have learned from her nightmare.
Ka-Bars are for women too. For less then the price of a dinner out, show her you care enough to send the best and give her a Ka-Bar. I suggest a parachute cord wrist thong or lanyard as they are often called, be securely fastened to the handle, to be slipped over the wrist as the knife is readied and held close, out of sight. It is nearly impossible to take away a Ka-Bar, so rigged, from scared, angry and otherwise properly motivated American adult woman thinking of her children.
She was an attractive, blonde western woman who placed herself in the middle of a crowd of excitable arab men, what did she think was going to happen? Seriously? Its not racism, its the real world...

—I don’t see it as being “all over F.R.”. There are a some moronic comments here and there to be sure- there’s one on this thread, for instance- but most people have strongly condemned them. Best to smack them down when you see it.

I totally agree. We need to win over the people who have not yet figured it out.
The left is working on this through “polarization/radicalisation” techniques (their Olbermann/etc stuff is design to turn well-meaning liberals/independents into hard-nosed leftists). I believe our best bet is intellectual argument.
The College kids should be on our side today. We have the intellectual argument. The left’s intellectual argument was always shallow, but unfortunately our people ignored their arguments (eg “conservatives are hitler, America is an agent of evil”) as “insane”. So in the absense of response, their shallow arguments, backed by ego-massage (”you’re clever if you think like us”) won over the College kids.
We can win back the College kids.

This is a point that isn’t getting discussed from what I can tell. Why was she in a dangerous area without security? What precautions were taken if any? Did she take unreasonable risks? Is it wise for a female to place herself in an unruly mob of Muslim men? Is politically correctness getting in the way of being realistic with this story?
