Interesting that you bring up Rachel Corrie.
It’s universally accepted that she deserved to get smashed by a Caterpillar.
But what if she was raped?
I’m guessing you and Dr. Scarpetta and others would have VEHEMENTLY denied that she would have deserved to be raped.
So why the contradictions?
“Its universally accepted that she deserved to get smashed by a Caterpillar.”
I never knew it was ‘universally accepted.’
Yes, neither Corey nor Logan should have been where she was, but I wouldn’t necessarily say either ‘deserved’ her death or assault. So I guess you can take me out of that universe.
Rachel Corrie put herself in front of that bulldozer, knowing it could kill her, to make a political point. Lara Logan didn't exactly strip down and offer herself to her attackers. She was a reporter trying to do her job, and while admittedly a dangerous job, she wasn't going out there daring the crowd to assault her.
Sexist and selective outrage, something we accuse the left of all the time.
It is indeed convenient that Lara was "on the job" and "only folloink orders" on who to demonize and who to glorify.
Rachel Corrie was killed in an accident due to her own stupidity while acting as a political agitator. I don’t believe she deserved to be crushed, but I do put her in the category of people who look for trouble and then find it. I have little sympathy for that. Lara Logan was not a political agitator. She was there serving at the behest of a reputable news outlet reporting on a story that held worldwide interest. Her politics have nothing to do with this. To blame her for this unconscionable.
