'No one told her to go there': Now FEMALE pundit lays into Egypt sex attack victim Lara Logan
Daily Mail UK ^ | February 16, 2011

A female political pundit has been heavily criticised for suggesting Lara Logan should have seen her sex attack coming - and for calling the Egyptians who were protesting for democracy 'animals'.

Debbie Schlussel posted a picture of Miss Logan on her blog, under the headline: 'Islam Fan Lara Logan Gets a Taste of Islam', before adding 'How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation".'

It comes as an American academic, Nir Rosen, yesterday resigned from his post at New York University after calling Miss Logan a 'warmonger' who was 'trying to outdo' rival news correspondent Anderson Cooper.

CBS correspondent Miss Logan endured a 'brutal and sustained' sexual assault and beating while covering the resignation of President Mubarak in Egypt.

The mother-of-one had been surrounded by an angry mob of 200 people before the assault which is thought to have lasted up to half an hour. She had to be saved by a group of women and 20 Egyptian soldiers and was later taken to hospital.

Yesterday Schlussel, who is Jewish, wrote: 'Lara Logan was among the chief cheerleaders of this 'revolution' by animals.

'Now she knows what Islamic revolution is really all about.

'So sad, too bad, Lara.

It would be pretty stupid to be a reporter then complain that you don’t want to be in any dangerous situation. In fact, if she did, she would be derided for “being a girl”.

I hear you roar.

She has a job working in a warzone. She knew the risks.

I haven’t heard Lara Logan blaming anyone as yet.

Should she not be allowed to have the job if she met the requirements?

I believe in personal responsiblity ... the soldier must speak for his behavior if his marriage ended.

Perhaps you just don’t like Lara Logan.

Perhaps I don’t. You got that right. And I’m glad you believe in personal responsiblity.

That alone is the key to survival in this mean old world. Personal responsiblity trumps everything. Even professional responsibility.

And I’m saying that the lovely Miss Lara showed poor judgment in her personal and professional lives.

Yes - consider me a troglodyte here - I’m even saying she should have been at home with her baby.

(Oh! the Horror!)

And I think she should do the job she wants to do, be it at home or in a warzone.

That’s what so nice about living in a world where we can chose our profession.

Bitter much?

She has a job working in a warzone. She knew the risks.

Did she? Or did she have an idealized view of exotic third worlders?

If she indeed knew the actual risks to a pretty Western woman posed by an angry mob of third world men, let alone an angry mob of third world Muslim men, and went there anyway because she thought that a woman should be able to go anywhere without being harmed, SO THERE!!!, then she is incurably stupid.

She should not have been sent into the lion's den. She should not have consented to enter the lion's den.

Stupidity all around.

Are people not allowed to do jobs that are dangerous?

Of course they are.

The Lady And The Snake:

A tender-hearted woman saw a pretty colored half-frozen snake on the path.
"Poor thing," she said, "I'll take you in, and care of you."
She wrapped him In a comforter and laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk.
When she arrived home that night she found the pretty snake had revived.
She clutched him to her bosom, stroked his pretty skin and then kissed and held him tight.
"You're so beautiful," she said, "But if I hadn't brought you in, by now you would have died."
Instead of saying, "Thank you," the snake gave the woman a vicious bite.
"But, I saved you," cried that woman, "And now you've bitten me!
You know your bite is poisonous, and now I will die."
Shut up, you silly woman," said the reptile, "You knew damn well I was a snake before you brought me in."

She does have children. A son. What’s so funny about that?

Am I trying to have a discussion with someone who has totally no clue what they’re talking about?

Please. Try and educate yourself on what’s going on. So you don’t waste my time.

Knuckle dragger! A woman should be allowed to handle whatever reptile she wants to. So don’t go blaming her for what that nasty snake did.

She did not deserve it, anymore than a moth deserves getting burned from a flame.

Islam, 1500 years of Sadistic Misogynist tradition. Go near it enough, and eventually you will get burned. The poor girl got burned.

I'm tellin' ya mate. Many Western women have absolutely no clue.

As a public service I'll list it by the numbers.

#1) Blonde white Western female.

#2) In a country where the rule of law in the best of times can be questionable.

#3) In a country where traditions/customs/laws dictate a certain standard of behavior from women.

#4) In said country in the midst of a revolution.

#5) In public, at night with a camera and lights proclaiming her bad self as a Western Journalist.

Gosh, what could possibly go wrong?

I don't think people are blaming her, just commenting on the irony.

She considers herself pretty hot stuff and wrecked a lot marriages among her fellow reporters during her time embedded in Iraq. The baby they mention here is illegitimate by one of them (Michael Ware, I think). She was expelled from Egypt the week before the attack, for her own protection, and insisted on going back. She knows the Middle East well, but still walked around in pants, an unbuttoned shirt and no head covering. When I travel ANYWHERE outside the US, I always dress the most conservatively I can.

What happened to her was certainly not her fault, but muslims are muslims.

I'm sick of people blaming Lara Logan for being raped.

Who's doing that? That's like blaming Daniel Pearl for getting his head sliced off by KSM, who continues to enjoy absurdly comfortable captivity at US expense.

The animals attacked her because they thought she was a Jew, and that's how they deal with Jewish females!

What's interesting about this incident is that a liberal experienced the true nature of the people for whom she and her colleagues have been apologizing. No reason not to revel in the irony. At the expense of her, her employer, and the rest of the MSM.

I happen to believe it's a man's most important job to be a strong father for his children. I think they should all stay home and take care of their children, especially if they have son's!

I'm just kidding of course but see how silly that sounds?

I wonder if her child was there with her and perhaps a nanny at the motel waiting for mommy to come home from work? Or perhaps the father had the child at the motel.

Just speculating.

Agreed, but Western women are bombarded from the time of birth with lies about the evils of snake discrimination.
