Wisconsin National Guard Preps For Worker Unrest After Governor Unveils Emergency Budget

Feb. 14, 2011, 9:49 AM

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a Republican, unveiled an emergency budget proposal Friday to deal with the state's growing budget woes. Wisconsin has a $137 million deficit this year, and faces a projected $2.9 billion budget shortfall for 2012 and 2013.

Under Walker's plan, public employees would lose all of their collective bargain rights, except a limited negotiation of wages. State workers would also have to contribute more to their pension and health care benefit plans.

Unions erupted in outrage as they learned about Walker's proposal. The Governor told Milwaukee Public Radio that he has briefed the Wisconsin National Guard to prepare them for any worker unrest today.

I think them unionized, rock throwing “workers” had best be careful. See... they need to go home at night where their baseball bat wielding neighbors might be waiting for them. There ain’t enough cops around to protect them all from the wrath of fed up taxpayers...

I hope the rank and file in the National Guard tell the good Governor to stuff it...

The fight to reclaim America is beginning?

Looking forward to it.

It's been a long wait!

"I hope the rank and file in the National Guard tell the good Governor to stuff it..."

It will just get real nasty if us taxpayers have to take to the streets to beat-back the useless, scum sucking unions and their thugs.

And, let me tell you, I'm damn ready to have at it with these POS union people.

Me too. I view public employee unions no different than madoffs at this point with their contant and never ending demands.

Is there a place to sign up to volunteer assistance to the Governor? I'm not National Guard, but I'm ready, willing, and able to help keep the peace.

Please explain. Fixing the budget, despite the consternation of those sucking from the government teat, is the Governor's number one priority. The National Guard is the *only* branch of military allowed the authority to quell issues among the citizenry. I don't see a problem here. Where am I wrong?

We had all better hope that the USA can come up with a method that will resolve this peacefully without major unrest. The first time the world sees major unrest in the USA the dollar and financial markets will collapse and interest rates will soar. Just saying we had better know what we are wishing for.

I’m for convincing people (all people) that we need to sacrifice as a country to get ourselves shipshape.

It means sacrifice by all and sacrifice that is perceived as fair by all. It will involve more sacrifice by those who can afford it and less by those who can’t but all must sacrifice. The public sector and politicians with their over $100K pensions need to have them pared back. No one in government should have a public pension over $50K.

BTW I’m ready to have at it with Wall St too because they had a big part in disrupting the economy and we not only bailed them out but made them rich again. These bankers should be bankrupt.

Are you kidding me? To us regular folks, yeah, any check is better than none at all. But not to a union member. They’ll be making $40 a hour and go on strike for an extra 40 cents or an extra five minute break.

I agree with you concerning Wall Street. I also think Bush should be held accountable for the TARP scam. He put Paulsen in and together they raped America.
And while we’re stringing people up every congress person who voted for TARP should be strung up, too.

First action should be to outlaw all government worker unions. Period.

Never understood that. They would go on strike for 6 months for a raise that would take them 10 years to earn back what they lost while on strike.

They do not like it one bit.

Most states have a militia clause in their constitutions. Just go out and mobilize all those state workers and start them into basic training.

Pending headline: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker fires all state union workers after they go on strike over his emergency budget. Union workers unable to file unemployment claims due to lack of state workers to process claims.

Good luck with the unions. They are nothing more than organized gangs that care only about themselves. You cross them and they will 'mess-you-up'. Just worthless, POS gangs, that's all. The Mafia may have more principles.

Why do I think this article is a load of malarky?

Here is the excerpt from the Milwaukee Public Radio (uh-oh) which the Business Insider cites:
xxxxxxxxxx

The governor says he’s briefed the National Guard and other state agencies, to prepare them for any problems with workers, as they learn of Walker’s emergency budget plan.
xxxxxxxxxx

In this context it changes the whole meaning of “prepping the Wisconsin National Guard”.
