I wish people would leave My Senator Rubio alone,he has only been a Senator for a Month FGS. We would appreciate it if he be allowed to work for us Floridians. This insanity has been going on for the last eight Months. We worked very hard for Marco against CC,and it was an uphill battle. Let Marco and his supporters catch our breath. Defeating Senile Bill Nelson is our next battle.
Yes we all want two conservatives, but how realistic is it to imagine? Gov. Palin has a record of being able to work with moderates and democrats, so choosing a more moderate VP, as Reagan did, if needed might be a possibility to unite the party. What we know about her is that she values loyalty and honesty very highly. She will not pick anyone who has been backstabbing her. That puts Romney out. Huckabee can’t afford the pay cut. Republican voters will want a VP with some leadership creds and may want a VP with more foreign policy experience than Palin. This is why Obama chose Biden. We know that Biden is a bubble off plumb, but democrats saw him as very experienced in the Senate and in foreign policy. (Never mind that all of his opinions were wrong.)People that had questions about Obama could rely that reliably wrong Biden would be there to bolster him on foreign affairs. This would rule out T-Paw and Bachmann, Rubio and West. Huntsman’s work in the Obama administration would probably rule him out. Still in the mix are Newt and Giuliani. Newt is smart as a whip and very knowledgeable about the working of Congress, but has the political instinct of a rock. If given a project, he could probably accomplish it as well as anyone, but when it comes to deciding the right thing to do, he comes up short. Giuliani is a proven leader, a corruption fighter, and has been consistent in his support of Gov. Palin even though his views differ from hers on the social issues. He is a popular speaker and presents himself well in interviews. He has limited experience in foreign affairs and he would get opposition from many conservatives.
My conclusion is that her choice may be none of the above. Which one of them would have the stamina to run a high energy campaign and not slow the tempo? The VP candidate will need to be acceptable to the TEA party audience so expect to see the people who want to be considered showing up at lots of TEA party events.
Palin/West is the way to go, leave Rubio in Florida
