Just break out the blueprints for the Saturn 1B or V. Problem solved.

Sounds logical to me.

Using new materials and/or methods where it makes sense, why re-invent the wheel?

You can re-invent the wheel for future use, but for now we need to get going as inexpensively as possible.

There was nothing inexpensive about the Saturn. Its cost was the reason we quit going to the moon.
