In an exclusive, in-depth interview with E! Online’s Giuliana Rancic, “Dancing With the Stars” finalist Bristol Palin talked about running for public office “further down the road,” son Tripp, ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston, her new boyfriend, and being a Maricopa, Ariz. homeowner.
When Rancic asked if she would ever run for office, Palin said, “Probably. But that would be further down the road.”
“If I saw something that needed to be changed, then I would step up to the plate and do something about it,” Palin said, addressing what would motivate her to enter elective politics.
Palin said she would run for office regardless of the invasion of privacy and scrutiny that goes hand in hand with being a political figure.
“I think it would be a good enough payoff if I knew that I was going to go into something and change it and make it better,” Palin said.
Bristol also said during the interview that her mother, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, would make a “wonderful” president.
“I think she would be a wonderful president, and I still think that she should run,” Palin said. “She’s just so common-sense conservative….just, ‘Here’s what we’ve gotta do and this is how we’re gonna do it,’ and she brings a whole ‘nother aspect to politics because she’s a mom, because she runs a household, and I just think she’s really smart.”

She has done things. Her appearance on Dancing with the Stars shows she has guts and a mind that doesn’t scatter when under pressure (like mine does). Now she lectures on the problems with unwed pregnancy. She says she might run for office. Voters will decide on her qualifications. Don’t worry about that.
Let’s bring this up again in about 15 years...

Most famous people are famous because they were either lucky or unlucky or both. Michael Reagan would be a nobody except for his dad. George W. Bush would have been a nobody except for his dad.
On the downside, Meghan McCain would be absolutely nothing except for her father. Ronald Reagan's children Rona and Patti have been a blight on his name. However, Michael and Maureen have both been respectful of their father's legacy and people whom Ronald Reagan would be proud to call his own.
Bristol Palin is an open canvas. So far everything I have seen from this young lady tells me that she is going to make her mother and father proud. She has overcome a lot of adversity and death threats simply because of who her mother is. I doubt very seriously if anyone on these boards who is critical of Bristol Palin have had the adversity and challenges that she has had in the last couple of years, and certainly not when they were 18-20 years of age.
No she is not a rocket scientist, but neither was Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was an actor, and a fairly average one at that. Before that, like Sarah Palin, he was a sportscaster.
What Bristol Palin makes of her life in the future is for Bristol Palin to acheive. Right now, she is a single mother and the child of the most hated woman in America. The father of her own child is a creep who sold his own family for 30 pieces of silver and she has to deal with that creep in one way or another for the next 16 or so years.
But it is easy to throw spitballs at Bristol Palin because she is taking advantage of the adversity that comes with having the last name Palin and having the most hated woman on the planet as her mother. She is making her mother proud. She is making her father proud. She is taking the fame she has and is doing good with it. What the hell more could you ask of her? What the hell are you guys doing with your fame?
